Written Android App Review
If you’re an Android user who wants to play a getting to know you game with your favorite device you want to pay attention to this Android app review.
Developer Tamas Barta recently released a brand new version of their Android info app called Elixir 2. Instead of upgrading the original, this is a completely original build with expanded info plumbing, customizable widgets and more.
Oh, and this app is 100 percent free. Get excited.
The Elixir 2 Android app gives you a front row seat to device data, system information, network info, applications, settings, logs, physical functions and more. If that sounds like a mouthful, that’s because it is.
I have never seen a system info app with more data tucked in to it. Every inch of this app is pumped full of performance data. If you run your Android like an engineer, or just want an easy way to manage apps, memory and more, Elixir 2 is definitely the app for you.
On top of pumping out copious amounts of data, Elixir 2 allows you to create custom widgets for easy access. Pick your size, shape and style, then populate it with your favorite data.
Want to know your battery level or temperature with one click? Put it on a widget, or install the status bar update feature.
The Elixir 2 Android app also gives you easy access to system screens. Manage your settings from one location instead of scrolling through pages of settings to find what you want. Use this app to manage your running processes, move apps to and from an SD card, and more.
In case you can’t tell, I’m kind of in love with Elixir 2. Any app that lets me be high handed with my Android and create bright pink widgets is alright in my book.
Elixir 2 has three app add-ons that you will want to install. The Elixir 2 – Widgets plugin allows you to create custom widgets that are stored on your phone not the SD card. The Elixir 2 – Admin add-on gives you access to settings otherwise blocked by your Android. More access is good, as long as you know what you’re doing.
And the Elixir 2 – Personal add-on allows you to do more with your personal info, such as contacts and missed calls. Add these to your widgets for even more control.
Elixir 2 organizes data in a simple grid of icons. Toggle through each icon’s pages of data with an easy arrow interface.
Data is organized into the following categories: information, applications, running, shortcuts, statusbar, widgets, sensors, report, help, add-ons, donation, translate, logs and uninstall. Device data is presented in helpful graphs, images and scales.
In other words, you won’t get lost using this app, despite the info overload. That’s very refreshing.
The Elixir 2 Android app is ad supported, but to be frank I just don’t care. It’s hard to believe an app that does all this (and its stellar add-ons) are all available free of charge. This app is a phenomenal value. Get it, love it and make a donation to keep work like this going.
Android Apps Review Details: Elixir 2 Android app is free. This app requires Android 2.1 and up. You may download Elixir 2 from the Android Market.
