Free Sudoku: Android Apps Written Review
Sudoku comes in many forms and styles, but Free Sudoku offers exactly what its names on Android devices. As one of the newest releases from developer Blue Fire Games, Free Sudoku is available for Android devices running 2.1 or later. Will Sudoku lovers enjoy this new free app on Google Play? Read on!
For those not familiar with Sudoku, let me quickly offer the Wiki explanation of this popular Japanese puzzle game: “Sudoku is a logic-based, combinatorial number-placement puzzle. The objective is to fill a 9×9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3×3 sub-grids that compose the grid (also called “boxes”, “blocks”, “regions”, or “sub-squares”) contains all of the digits from 1 to 9. The puzzle setter provides a partially completed grid, which typically has a unique solution.” That’s it! It’s pretty complex at first, but it’s definitely one of the most impressive brain-teasers that can be played with a simple grid and numbers.
Running on the powerful and popular Unity engine, Free Sudoku presents users with a fairly standard Sudoku board, with unlimited play options through the reset feature. To place a number, just tap on the space. Tap on the number repeatedly to increase its value. There is also buttons that allow you to check your progress or reveal the whole board. Of course, there is also several buttons that allow for you to check out the other games by Blue Fire Games. Free Sudoku rocks a solid set of features that allow for unlimited variety with all sorts of Sudoku puzzles.
Graphics and Layout
Free Sudoku probably isn’t going to win tons of awards for outstanding graphics. However, don’t let the simple design fool you-just like the original Sudoku, it’s the game, not the fancy layout that scores points. Like many apps on Android, the layout may get a little cluttered on various tablet devices, but it definitely is still playable. The overall design is straight to the point-more Sudoku for you, less flash, more functionality!
It’s hard to argue with a free app, especially one as a solid as Free Sudoku. If you are looking for a well-rounded puzzle app available for a wide range of Android devices, you will probably enjoy Free Sudoku. It may not be as polished as some of the competition, but it makes up for that with its price and functions. Definitely give Free Sudoku a try today if you need a logic-based puzzle fix on Android.
Free Sudoku is available for Android devices running Android 2.1 and later. It is available through the Google Play store for free.
