Equalizer FX: Written Android App Review

When it comes to our music, we’re incredibly hard to please. We have picky tastes to begin with, and to top it all off, we have to have our setup pumping out the best equalization possible before we can relax and just enjoy the groove. This is why we’re thankful for Android applications like Equalizer FX by developer devdnua. The app makes it simple and effective to both fine-tune and boost our music’s performance on our Android phone. Want a full review? Look no further than the one posted below, just beyond the break!

Concept and Functionality

Equalizer FX for Android

At this point, you might be wondering what equalization is, or why you might need a dedicated app for it on your Android phone. To be honest, there’s only one good reason: Most stock Droid music players suck. That’s not to say that they don’t get by—but with a few tweaks, you’d be surprised what something like Equalizer FX can do for your mobile music experience.

For instance, the app features a truly excellent bass boost model that does exactly what it says it will. Give the low-end a much needed kick, and you’ll suddenly notice a whole new realm of clarity. The same applies for the app’s ability to tweak the mids, highs, and lows of your music directly. You can affect specific frequencies of sound—if you know what you’re doing, this makes it incredibly simple—or you can go with one of the dozen different included presets. In our playing with the app, we found these presets are actually rather solid, too. All in all, it’s a good way to go, and it provides immediate, quality results.

Design and Interface

In fact, one of the only things we have to complain about with the application is its design. It’s not by a longshot the worst looking application we have ever seen. Then again, it’s not exactly the best either. In our humble opinion, a good waveform-oriented revision and some dark, grunge colours would go a long way toward creating a more specific brand feel for the app, and would give it that sort of Beats by Dre feel that’s both appealing and marketable. Then again, the minimalist sliders are hardly an eyesore, too!

Overall Value

And at the end of the day, Equalizer FX is an incredible value as a free application in the Google Play Store. That means you can enjoy all of the music boosting potential it has locked away without spending a single dime. That’s an incredible deal to us, and if you’re in need, we highly suggest you give Equalizer FX. This is one music equalization solution that comes recommended by us!
