Concept and Gameplay
The idea behind Extreme Volleyball for Robots is simple: keep the bomb from touching the ground and you’re fine. If the timer runs out or you happen to miss a volley, the bomb will blow up and your opponent will earn a point.
All you have to do is swipe your finger over your character to move him around his side of the court. Tapping the top of the screen will cause him to jump, which is useful for serving the bomb ball.
Extreme Volleyball for Robots is unique because you actually have two things working against you. Not only to you have to keep the bomb from hitting the ground, but you also need to keep an eye on the timer to make sure it doesn’t blow up on your side of the court.
One of the really neat things about Extreme Volleyball for Robots is that you can play against a computer or a real opponent. To accomplish the latter, though, it’s recommended that you play the game on a device with a screen that can recognize at least four tap inputs at once.
As far as gameplay, Extreme Volleyball for Robots is actually pretty fun and challenging. You can choose from the usual difficulty modes, as well as which side of the court you’d like to play on. Though it’s simple, the game is addicting and a pleasure to play.
Though the idea behind Extreme Volleyball for Robots is simple, I like the fact that the game comes with quite a few customizable features to enhance gameplay. For example, there are a variety of ways to control your character. Along with sliding your finger on the screen, you can also use your device’s accelerometer and arrows on the screen.
Lastly, you can change the number of bombs in the game (essentially the number of points in the match). This could make for incredibly long matches, though, because the bomb timer is fairly long. I’d like to see a setting to chance the bomb fuse time to make for quicker matches.
Extreme Volleyball for Robots is available to download from Google Play for free, which is always a fantastic price. Considering how entertaining and fun it is, I definitely recommend checking out Extreme Volleyball for Robots if you’re looking for a neat new game to try.
