Android App Review by AndroidAppsReview.com
Because of what we do, we tend to spend a whole lot of time out there on the road. This means long car rides are just part of our makeup now, as are constant stops for food, entertainment, and so forth. But even when we’re at home, we like to get out and explore. Is there an application that can easily help us do both?
Why, of course! Driveopedia, from Updatein Labs, offers a brilliantly good-looking way to look for just about any local attraction with only a few taps of a button. It’s sleek, solid and endlessly rewarding. It isn’t without its faults, but if you’re looking for a local search tool to make your heart happy, it’ll do the trick.

Concept and Functionality
The core idea behind Driveopedia is based around a single need. What if you want to look for a restaurant nearby, but aren’t sure how to go about it? Or maybe you need a gas station, and quickly? No matter what you’re after, there’s a way to get to it, and Driveopedia will help you do that.
Essentially, the app simplifies everything down to a single dashboard full of icons making it very easy to use. With a single glance, you can locate what you’re after, and then tap it with a finger. The app looks for locations that match your request in your area, and then feeds you results through Google. You’ll get reviews, photos, information, hours, and contact details. You can even get down to the street view to have a look about the neighborhood before making a decisions.
Driveopedia will also track your search history, allowing you to have a look at places of interest where you’re going before you get there. Once you’ve arrived, you can simply browse through your history to locate those great places.
It’s quick, simple and effective. Just the way a travel application should be!
Design and Interface
A lot of Driveopedia’s success stems from its stellar design. This is a good-looking title, and one that we are more than happy to have under our fingers. We appreciated the concise easy of use and super simplified interface immensely. Everything about it makes searching for locations unbelievably tidy.
However, we do have to point out that all of Driveopedia’s information comes from Google. Which begs the question: Why not just use Google’s applications to do the same? In a way, we suppose it’s easier to use Driveopedia’s limitless effortlessness. But then again, do you really need a pretty interface covering what is essentially Google Maps?
We’ll let you decide the big things, but for us, we still greatly enjoyed what Driveopedia had to offer. It’s a gorgeous title with a clear point, and a very easy to manage interface. Sure, it may not be the most strictly necessary application on your phone, but if you travel a lot, you’ll easily find a spot for it.
It will likely save you time vs using Google directly, and since it’s free to download, go ahead, give it a whirl and let us know what you think.
The bottom line is, Driveopedia gets a recommendation from us!
Driveopedia requires Android 1.5 and up. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
