When we were kids, there was nothing more to life than a good platforming game. They were zany, they offered lots of power-ups, and they just never became boring.
The title takes maze games to a whole new level on Android devices, supplying a huge number of levels, and endless stream of characters and items, plus a laid-back attitude that we can’t get enough of.

Concept and Gameplay
Race a Maze, though not the first Android title to feature a 3D maze, is certainly the best in the genre.
For those not familiar with the layout, you’ll play as a bubbly cartoon character that must successfully navigate a maze from beginning to end. To do this, you’ll need to be quick on your feet: Each level comes complete with obstacles, enemies, and plenty of other pitfalls to avoid.
There’s also a time limit controlling your every move, and if you fall too behind, you’ll quickly find yourself served with a big fat “Game Over.”
To aide you, the game allows players to purchase various powerups and utilities. These can be as simple as trapping an opponent in a spring cage, or as complicated as rocketing them into the stratosphere and out of your path.
Need some directional assistance, or perhaps a few more minutes added to the clock? You’re covered here.
Quite honestly, that’s just a small sampling, even. Race a Maze makes a real point to be heavy on the enhancements.
This creates a gaming environment that’s ripe with opportunity, and never (ever) gets old.
Design and Graphics
We can’t stress this enough, but Race a Maze is a very handsome game. The title features a wonderful cell-shaded look that we love. Not to mention the fact that the characters are downright adorable. Even the enemies you’ll encounter are fun and inviting.
Not to mention the clear attention to game expansion the developers have given Race a Maze. You’ll find 100 levels included here, plus a sizable pile of characters and upgrades.
Between these three things, you’ll enjoy countless hours of gameplay out of Race a Maze. That’s before getting to the replay value, even!
At the end of the day, Race a Maze is a truly delightful addition to the Android platform, and one that we had a blast playing. It’s fun, fast-paced, easy on the eyes, and completely free in the Google Play Store.
If there’s a downside to enjoying what Race a Maze has to offer, then we don’t know what it is.
For the readers among us, Race a Maze gets a very high recommendation, as well as a perfect score from us.
Race a Maze requires Android 3.2 and up. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
