Dinger Apps has just released their splendid retro style game, Don’t Touch the Branches.

Ever look out the window at the greyish mass of clouds pushed by the same crisp wind that is causing those leaves across the street to flutter and fly? Well, guess what? Fall has arrived!

As the branches slowly become bare, and the leaves tumble to the ground, a hero emerges among the wind. That hero is you, my friend.

Your role in this magnificent cycle of nature’s annual rebirth is to prevent a precious leaf from being hung up on the nearby bark and branches as it slowly floats to the ground.

This is why you were made.

Features

Don’t Touch the Branches is a fun app to play for anyone who enjoys Flappy Bird type games and has quite a few features for such a simple styled game.

Be ready for a bit of a learning curve to master its mechanics but once summited, it makes for a thoroughly enjoyable gaming experience. It also features several bonus incentives (e.g. different coloured leafs) after the leaf has fallen through certain levels of the tree (as noted by the leaf key counter that tells how many branches are left before the next colour).

Don’t Touch the Branches Android Game

Don’t Touch the Branches uses the Google Play Leaderboards and achievements to let each player be able to easily compete against their fellow windman and compare scores.

It makes use of the tap or tap-and-hold controls to successfully navigate down the tree, with each tap correlating to either a left or right breeze to avoid the branches.

A mindless yet still mentally-stimulating game, Don’t Touch the Branches is perfect for anyone looking to kill some time and float down the eternal tree. The fact that the game works well on both phones and tablets is an added bonus.

Appearance and Layout

The appearance of Don’t Touch the Branches is simple and eye-appealing and, with its friendly-style graphics, kids should feel right at ease with playing this game.

The layout is well developed, and the text everywhere, from the Menu screen to the simple tutorial with gameplay instructions, is easy to read.

The high scores are easily accessibly as well, and overall Don’t Touch the Branches is a well-designed game.

Value

Don’t Touch the Branches is free and it’s only 11MB! While it does contain ads, they only appear in between games so they don’t get in the way. It’s also worth noting that this game does not require any special permissions, something we greatly appreciate.

One will definitely encounter some difficulty at the beginning, and can be a bit frustrating, but once you get the hang of the controls, this game is splendidly fun to play.

Not only does it stretch one’s mind with the initial challenge of learning to move the leaf correctly, it also helps develop the art of patience in an individual.

Young children may enjoy this game if they’re willing to put the time in to succeed. It will certainly give them a sense of accomplishment since it is not a game that is easily conquered.

Overall, Don’t Touch the Branches is definitely worth the download!

LeafQRDon’t Touch the Branches requires Android 2.3 and up. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
