This game runs smoothly, looks great, and provides enough extras to become a true classic in no time.
In addition to top notch mechanics and gameplay, a big part of what makes this game a fast starter is the comprehensive tutorials that walk you through how to play it.
There’s a lot here to wrap your gaming mind around, from gathering resources to outfitting a diner to feed your workers, to the science lab where you can research buildings, bombs, and resources, the refinery where you can refine your resources, and much more.
To keep things fun and interesting there’s an amazing amount of customizations that you can play with. And don’t forget to keep on eye on what might be approaching in the water.
We especially like that even as complex as the game is, you can always pinch and zoom around to either get a whole view of what’s going on or zoom in to deal with one aspect of your strategy.
Concept and Gameplay
The setup of this game tells you right away that the developers really set out to build more than just a game. With all the different mini-challenges within the game it feels like a cross between Clash of Clans and Angry Birds.
In order get things done, like completing the lab for research, you have to collect pears so you can speed things along. The nice thing is you can do that without spending actual money. You can collect them just by playing the game.
In some ways it’s an update on the old family game or party game, in the sense that you can play with the people you’re with, people around the world, or play against the computer.
We would like to see some additional capabilities in the social gaming aspect though. It would be great if you could arrange with your far-flung friends to all gather around your Android devices at a particular time, in a “closed off area” to play together, text each other during gameplay, and maybe even share pics or videos of what’s going on at each location.
Jelly Wars is absolutely a game that will entertain you and your friends for many hours of play. With the variety of things to do, it will no doubt take a while to get familiar with all of it so expect a learning curve. Of course that is a plus and a minus. You have to invest some time to really get the hang of it but it pays off by being a game that you won’t get easily bored with.
We strongly suggest you give it a try. Download it and let us know what you think.
