The Internet is a wild, wild place, one that’s most often filled with countless joys, a thousand million factoids, and even more pointless lists. We spend a large percentage of our day just scrolling through everything the Net has to offer. But do you know what really gets us down about the whole experience?

Annoying bloody ads.

We hate seeing all those stupid, flashy squares in the gutter of our pages. They drive us insane, they slow down the computer, and they cause endless frustrations. This is why we’re so excited to finally have Adguard for Android.

Concept and Functionality

What does Adguard do? It’s simple: Adguard stops all advertisements at the door, making sure they don’t appear in your browser, show up in your emails, or anywhere else on your phone.

Think about that for a second. From now on, you can browse the Internet without any of those stupid, processor-absorbing squares nearby. No more dating site solicitations, no more targeted adverts from Amazon, no more sites tracking your activities. None of it. That means less time fretting, and so much smoother browsing.

However, that’s not all that Adguard provides. Because it uses a local VPN to control what you see, it can also protect you automatically from phishing attacks, malware, and other nuisances.

Not only does Adguard for Android ensure you have the best possible, ad-free browsing experience, but it’ll keep you safe doing it. And that’s just downright incredible.

Finally, Adguard does all of this without root access (meaning it’s free to work on any device) and comes with browsing security via anonymity.

Design and Installation

However, our favorite part of Adguard is the fact that it’s so dang easy to setup. You just install the application from the Adguard website, and then boot it up. Press the big green button, and you’re done!

The VPN is already setup on your device, and without any additional fidgeting from you. Once you’re finished with the install, you’ll automatically see advertisements removed from your browsing experience, across your entire phone.

This ease of use is one of the app’s biggest boons. However, it also helps Adguard’s case that it just works. The app, without any further prodding, does everything it says it will and more. To us, mobile app design simply doesn’t improve beyond this. Especially when the functionality offered is such a life saver.

Overall Value

As it stands, Adguard is also a great value. The application is completely free to install and run if you’re just looking for basic ad-blocking. However, if you want the app’s full security as well as ad-removal across all apps, then you’ll need to pay $24.95 per year for a Premium account. However, for those that use their phones all day long, this is hardly a steep price to pay.

All in all, we simply cannot recommend Adguard enough. It’s one of those utilities you didn’t know you needed, but now that you’ve got it, you can’t live without. And for that, we’re happy to pay any price.

qrcode_android_apkAdguard requires Android 4.03+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.

  1. Adguard’s done a great job at keeping the ads away. But It doesn’t always work, and I’m forced to go through YouTube ads very often, though This could be a problem with CM browser, which isn’t a mainstream browser. The most outrageous thing about YouTube is that they’ve now begun showing TWO ads at the beginning of some videos, like they’re trying to encourage people to begin using Adguard.
