Whether you’re a social butterfly who enjoys tweeting and posting at all hours of the day or you check your social networks every so often, it’s always a bother to access each individual network separately.
Having all of your social happenings in one place is a great way to stay in touch with people across a variety of networks.
SocialPoint is a free Android app that lets you connect through all your social networks with minimal effort.
Developed by SocialPoint Inc, this handy social networking tool is a great way to bring all of your accounts under one roof, making it easier to keep up with them.
Concept and Functionality
As someone who has more social media accounts than I care to think of, I will honestly say that I can go weeks without taking a peek at Twitter, Google+, and other sites.
SocialPoint aims to eliminate this issue by giving users a way to integrate a wide variety of social media networks into one easily digestible feed.
One of the first things that impressed me about SocialPoint is the number of networks that the app supports. This includes Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Foursquare, Instagram, and AT&T Feed. I do want to mention, though, that it looks like SocialPoint only allows one account per service.
Once you create an account with SocialPoint, you can navigate to the More menu and begin connecting accounts. When you have as many accounts connected as you want, you can check out the Feed menu.
This is where all of the status updates from your social networks are shown. I found the feed to be very easy to read and navigate, which is always a plus.
When it comes to navigation and layout, I didn’t have any problems finding my way around SocialPoint. Unlike many other social media aggregators, SocialPoint isn’t cluttered or littered with complicated menus.
One would think that integrating a variety of social networks could get messy, but SocialPoint handles everything with great aplomb.
One of the best features of SocialPoint is the ability to create a single post and share it with multiple social networks.
To do this, simply compose a message, optionally attach an image, and choose which networks to share with. This is great for users who want a quick way to get the word out about something without having to visit each network individually.
Also, SocialPoint includes a filter feature for when your networks get a bit too noisy. This is great for users who are looking for something particular or just want to focus on a specific network or two.
The app even includes a very comprehensive search function that lets you choose which networks to search.
SocialPoint is available to download from Google Play for free and there are in-app purchases for disabling ads, social contacts, and social filters. These extra features are $0.99 each or $1.99 for all three.
Overall, SocialPoint is a great app for users who want a way to quickly and easily consolidate various social media networks and we definitely recommend giving it a try.
SocialPoint requires Android 2.2+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
