For those who’ve been with us for a while, you’re likely aware of the fact that we absolutely cannot get enough arcade game action.
It’s a high-stakes, high-smashing powerhouse of an arcade game by a legendary insurance provider.
If that’s got your interested piqued, then head on down below the break for our full review!
Concept and Gameplay
If you have ever played a demolition derby-style game before (they were immensely popular on consoles when this author was a child) then you already know what to expect from Demolition Dodge.
The app has players careening around a dirt arena, trying desperately not to smack into opponents while haplessly aiming for stars. The more stars the user collects, the more cars they can unlock.
Demolition Dodge is simple, wonderfully addictive, and as much destructive fun as you’ll get anywhere.
The player controls the car simply by going left or right, and by pumping the gas or “brake”—the latter also goes in reverse, a classic move in the genre. In this fashion, you’ll rally car your way around the huge track, hoping to God you don’t get pinned by more than a few opponents.
It’s great fun, and the game freshens up the action by providing near-constant power-ups. These are items that help you go faster, last longer, or otherwise spice up the action.
It’s a much-needed refresher from the constant barrage of broken glass and acceleration. And with it all summed up, we can happily say the end results are smile-inducing.
Design and Graphics
The only area where this kind of fun can go south is in its design. After all, it’s hard to mess up two cars smacking into each other.
It’s just fun by its very nature. However, Demolition Dodge makes sure to go the extra mile by providing a world that’s bright, inviting, and extremely well put together.
The graphics here are sharp and well-made, while the controls respond exactly as you’d expect them to.
The physics engine at work here is excellent, and at no point did we feel things were overly silly. It’s just the right amount of ridiculous, just as the genre demands.
At the end of the day, it’s also hard not to feel good about the price that Demolition Dodge is packing.
For no money down, you can drive this bad boy right off the lot. Go ahead and give it a whirl, just sit down and feel the leather on your skin. It’s nice right?
Imagery aside, it is worth mentioning that Demolition Dodge is rather short. It won’t take long to get all the way through the available vehicles. Still, this is not one to be missed, and it makes an easy recommendation from us!
Demolition Dodge requires Android version 2.2+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this news item.
