City Transit – TripGo is perfect for anyone who uses public transportation. Whether you live in an urban area and don’t have a car, or maybe you’re environmentally-conscious and do your best to minimize your carbon footprint, while at the same time need to get somewhere on time.
Similar to Google Maps’ Transit, but much more practical and easy to use, City Transit easily routes you to your destination.
This useful app enables you to find the cheapest, fastest, and most environmentally-friendly way to get from point A to point B (as well as points C, D, E, etc.).
City Transit lets you combine your route with various methods of transportation, so whether you want to walk a mile, car-share for two miles, and then jump on a bus for five miles, City Transit has it covered by combining both private and public means of transportation. In fact, it includes over 10 different types of public, personal, and private transport options.
Besides planning your route, City Transit also shows easily viewable timetables and live service alerts.
We really like how you can simply sync your calendar with City Transit and it will help you schedule your commute with its handy Agenda.
City Transit is still continuing to grow each day with over 50 cities worldwide currently offered and more expected to be added in the future, so check to see that it covers the city you’re moving around in.
It’s mainly useful in highly populated areas of Europe and the USA, but not so much if you’re out in a more rural part of the world (or even in suburban parts of the United States).
Appearance and Layout
The appearance and layout of City Transit is superb, with easy to read text, icons, and aesthetically appealing colors.
The map is simply Google Maps, and the time tables are easy to maneuver through and find the routes you want.
Keeping with the simple modernistic styles common in attractive apps like Uber, City Transit has done a great job with making a very useful and user-friendly Android app.
The value of City Transit is perfect, since it’s not only a free app but it’s focused on helping you save money by finding the most fuel efficient, cheapest, and fastest route around your city.
We’d love it more if it was useful outside of the big cities, but the future is certainly quite bright for City Transit.
It is also available in the Apple App Store.
City Transit – TripGo requires Android 2.3.3 and up. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
