Whether you share your Android device or you’re looking for a way to keep certain apps safe from prying eyes, AppLock Face/Voice Recognition is a must-have tool for protecting apps.
Developed by Sensory TrulySecure, this incredibly useful app provides both security and peace of mind.
Concept and Functionality
AppLock Face/Voice Recognition uses a combination of face, voice, and password locks to keep your apps safe and secure. When you first open the app, you have to train it to recognize your face and voice, which is an incredibly simple and fast process.
Once AppLock Face/Voice Recognition has learned your face and your voice, you have the option of setting up an alternative unlock method. You can choose from a four digit PIN, a pattern, or a password. Personally I think this is fantastic, as many privacy apps don’t give users multiple access methods, which causes unneeded frustration in the event that the app or camera/mic hardware doesn’t function properly.
AppLock Face/Voice Recognition lets users easily select which apps they want to protect, and it even auto protects well known apps like Google Calendar, email, and more. Users can open the app and add/remove protected apps quickly and easily, as well.
I tested AppLock Face/Voice Recognition fairly thoroughly and found that the app did a fantastic job of recognizing both my face and my voice. As someone who is always concerned about security, this is definitely an app I’d trust to keep sensitive apps secure.
When it comes to security apps, one of the most important things to look for is extensive customization capabilities. This means a plethora of security options so users have plenty of control over how the app functions. AppLock Face/Voice Recognition covers this and much more, which gives users added peace of mind.
Also, it’s definitely worth mentioning that AppLock Face/Voice Recognition is still technically in beta, but I found that the app works perfectly fine on my Nexus 7.
The reason why I’m pointing this out, though, is that it means the developers are actively adding new features and tweaking the app. Therefore, users are highly encouraged to submit feedback for app improvements and feature suggestions.
AppLock Face/Voice Recognition can be downloaded from Google Play for free and doesn’t require additional in-app purchases or anything of the sort.
Overall, if you’re looking for a secure and functional way to protect apps from outsiders, AppLock Face/Voice Recognition is definitely worth checking out. It’s easy to use, yet provides plenty of security.
AppLock Face/Voice Recognition requires Android 4.0.3 – 5.0+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
