Nowadays it seems like there’s a simulator for everything. From airplanes to trucks, to farms and even people, it’s easy to find a game that lets you be someone or something else for a bit.
Not only does this give players a different experience, but it can also teach us a thing or two about things we would never experience otherwise.
Euro Train Simulator is a very well constructed game for Android that puts players in the front seat of the most popular commercial trains around.
Developed by Highbrow Interactive, this awesome Sim game is perfect for those who have always wondered what it’d be like to be a railroad engineer.
Concept and Gameplay
Euro Train Simulator is Sim game that definitely puts player experience above all else.
The goal of the game is to give players an opportunity to learn what it’s like to zoom from point A to point B as quickly and safely as possible.
There are a total of 3 tiers in Euro Train Simulator, and each tier features it’s own set of stages to complete. Stages have set objectives, and the goal of each stage is to reach the next station in the allotted time without incurring penalties or derailing.
To control your train you’ll use the throttle lever on the right side of the screen to adjust speed. There are buttons on the left side for things like lights, the horn, and even an emergency brake.
As you’re traveling, you have to be aware of speed limits, weather, and railroad signals.
In terms of graphics and gameplay, Euro Train Simulator features realistic visuals and great sound effects.
The developers made an extra effort to create hyperrealistic train stations, passengers, and weather effects, which has led to a truly immersive Sim experience.
Along with many different stages to play through, Euro Train Simulator includes a few great features that make it a great game to play.
Personally I really like the fact that that there are 10 different trains to unlock, which means players won’t become bored with running the same train over and over again.
Also, Euro Train Simulator includes two different play modes. Career Mode lets players progress through stages and unlock trains.
Quick Mode, on the other hand, is a great way to set up a custom simulator experience by choosing which train you want to run, where you want to go, and what the weather conditions will be.
Euro Train Simulator can be downloaded from Google Play for free. Additional tiers cost $1.00 to unlock via in-app purchase, and personally I think this is incredibly reasonable given the amount of detail and content in the game.
Overall, if you enjoy Sim games and you’re looking for a great new Android game to try, I highly recommend taking a look at this gem. It’s also available from the Apple App Store for iOS devices.
Not only does Euro Train Simulator feel realistic, but it’s addicting and darn fun to play.
Euro Train Simulator requires Android 2.3+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
