If you’ve been with us long, you’re likely aware of the fact that we’re absolute suckers for long-term growth games. Anything with a particularly Sim City vibe has us gripped by the horns. However, we’re also big into games like Farmville that make us grow our own weight in by-products. Well, what if we told you there was a cross-platform game that could handle both?
Insert Aquapolis, a sprawling exercise in addictive gameplay, gorgeous graphics, and a free price tag. It’s unbelievably good stuff, and if you’ve been itching for a new game to throw your life down, this will get the job done.

Gameplay and Concept
If you’ve been playing games on either Android or iOS platforms long, you’ve probably come across the genre at hand before.
Essentially, you’ll start with a bare stretch of ocean floor, and it’s your job to turn the entire place into a sprawling, booming metropolis. How do you do this? Through clever resource management, lots of side quests, and more than a little time. In fact, you’ll probably a want of the latter.
In the typical fashion, you will construct buildings and farm goods. Both will help you expand your city to include more denizens, as well as help it expand in a more literal sense. In fact, no other game of this variety can offer nearly as much wondrous sprawl as Aquapolis does.
The game is simply massive, offering more than 80 units to construct. Not to mention the minute details of laying out said city in the first place. Truly, this is a massive undertaking.
All things considered, Aquapolis offers a unique take on a (rather) tired genre. Through it all, the gameplay is enlivening, extremely addicting, and offers enough return value to keep even the most hardened of mobile gamers coming back.
Design and Graphics
All of that, of course, before we even get to the graphics! Simply put, the game looks fantastic. We’ve seen a lot of the game’s competitors over the years, and it’s quite easy to admit that Aquapolis is one of the better looking options.
The spritely graphics, bright colors, and inviting characters make every second a joyride. And by second, we of course mean hour.
Indeed, it’s possible to waste a lot of time here. If nothing else, though, this is the best indicator of a well thought-out game.
The developers have clearly put a lot of attention into Aquapolis and it shines because of it.
At the end of the day, it’s hard to argue with the value that Aquapolis represents. It’s a free title available in both the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store. It shows off a unique personality, as well as copious heaps of gameplay. This, combined with its cheeriness and free price tag, make it an indispensable find for any serious mobile gamer.
Aquapolis gets a hearty five out of five from us, as well as a solid recommendation.
Aquapolis requires Android version 2.3.3+. A small expedite fee was paid to speed up the publication of this review.
