Sky Hex is a fun and engaging Android game that challenges you to compete against an AI for the highest score. If you enjoy puzzle games, this is one that you can’t miss out on.
Concept and Gameplay
From the looks of it, Sky Hex by Selyanin Andrey is a pretty basic game that doesn’t go overboard with crazy graphics and animations. Instead, it focuses solely on gameplay.
In order to play Sky Hex you must place hexes on the board. Hexes are displayed as numbers on the right side and all you have to do is tap a cell to place the hex.
If you place a number next to your opponent that’s higher than their number, their hex changes to your color. Sky Hex is very easy to learn, but can be challenging to master.
One thing about Sky Hex is that games can go pretty quickly. There’s a great tutorial in the first few levels that shows you the basics of the game, which is incredibly useful.
Sky Hex currently includes 60 levels for players to enjoy and it seems like the developer is planning on adding more levels in upcoming updates.
Unfortunately, one feature that is noticeably absent is a multiplayer mode. Playing against a computer is fun, but sometimes it can be a little too difficult to come away with a win. A multiplayer option could definitely make Sky Hex a bit more fun and interactive.
It’s also worth noting that Sky Hex includes an in-game store where you can purchase skins for your hex pieces. You can do so either with gold earned from playing or by purchasing gems via in-app purchase.
Sky Hex is available to download from Google Play for free. The game is supported by ads, but you can opt to disable them for $2.00. The ads really aren’t all too intrusive and the game is easily played without disabling them.
Overall, Sky Hex is a wonderful puzzle game for Android that’s sure to bring you hours of challenging entertainment.
Sky Hex is FREE and requires Android 3.0+. You can download it from Google Play. A small expedited fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
