Whether you share your Android or you want a bit of extra security, keeping apps locked down isn’t something that’s out of the ordinary.
Not only does locking your device and your apps provide extra peace of mind, but the best app lockers will also improve your entire Android experience.
AppLock is definitely one of the best app lockers on the market and makes it easy to secure apps and games with just a few taps.
You can even protect AppLock, by Nevways, with a passcode and prevent anyone from uninstalling it from your device.
Concept and Functionality
AppLock is very easy to download and doesn’t require root access, which is great news for anyone who hasn’t gone to great lengths to root their Android. One thing I did notice about AppLock, however, is that ads are rampant and tend to bottleneck the app.
Usually I don’t have an issue with a few ads here or there, but ads in AppLock take up the whole screen and occasionally trick you into clicking them.
To lock an app, all you have to do is toggle it within AppLock. If you lock an app you’ll be required to enter your pin code or pattern in order to unlock it when you open the locked app. Once the correct pin or pattern is entered, the app functions normally.
When it comes to navigation, AppLock is pretty easy to figure out. There are a bunch of extra settings for users to play around with, meaning you can customize the app quite a bit so it fits your needs. You can lock everything down as much or as little as you want.
As I mentioned above, AppLock lets you choose how to lock apps with either a pin or a pattern.
You can even opt to hide the icon for AppLock, accessing it only by dialing a code in your phone’s call app to open the app. There’s one drawback to this; not all Android devices have phone capabilities.
AppLock also gives you the option to protect the app from being uninstalled by unauthorized users. This is an excellent extra measure to make sure your locked apps will stay safe.
AppLock can be downloaded from Google Play for free, but you’ll need to pay in order to shut off ads. Personally I think the value of the app completely depends on how motivated you are to protect your apps.
If you’re looking for an app locker, check out this one, it’s as full featured as any and easier to use than most.
AppLock is FREE and requires Android 3.0+. You can download it from Google Play. A small expedited fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
