Solitaire is a blast from the past that offers endless hours of playtime and works great on your Android device.

Developed by MobilityWare, the makers of the original Solitaire game, Solitaire for the Android is essentially the same as the classic game, with updated Android-esque graphics and unique daily challenges designed to quench your boredom.

Solitaire is loaded with great features that have added a sweet upgrade to this classic card game.

Not only is Solitaire one of the best known card games, but it gives unique daily challenges that help keep the game afresh by unlocking a new challenge every day for the player.

Solitaire can be played in either Portrait or Landscape view mode, and a nifty statistics tracker tracks your progress and style. An Immersive Mode lets players play without on-screen distractions, and its Vegas Scoring options are perfect for Vegas lovers.

The settings menu for Solitaire is chock full of customizing options, and we loved how we can choose the different appearances for both the background and cards.

Plus, an active data or wi-fi connection isn’t required to play, which makes it perfect for those long flights and roadtrips, and players can also race against their pals to see who’s minds are sharpest.

Players can win trophies each month by earning daily crowns for competing the daily challenges and can check the leaderboard to see how they rank against other players.

Overall, Solitaire is exactly what it claims to be – a well designed Solitaire app for the Android.

Solitaire Android App

Appearance and Layout

Solitaire looks incredible with its multitude of theme packs and wonderful sets of backgrounds. The colors are smooth and he card decks can also all be customized.

The layout is typical of solitaire games, and the icons are all easily self-explanatory. However, the banner ads that appear when viewing the Settings menu do tend to clash with the overall smoothness in the appearance and layout of the app.

Overall, Solitaire is an upgrade from the classic Windows ’98 game in appearance while the game is essentially still the same.

Solitaire is a free, ad-supported app that has endless hours of replay-ability.  This app will be sure to satisfy those users who loved playing Solitaire on their computer.

Since it is ad-supported, players should expect to see banner ads when viewing the Settings Menu, but other than that, the app is fairly clean of ads.

Overall, we loved being able to play Solitaire on our Android devices and, for your iOS friends, it’s also available for free from the App Store.

Solitaire requirements vary with device.
