Wuala has been quite the buzz in the backup service space for the last several weeks, especially in light of their recent iPhone and iPad releases. However, Wuala has decided to share the love with the recent Android app release, and after reviewing the app in detail, I found that indeed, the app lives up to the current hype.

Wuala has it all. Whether you desire a online backup service, or a full featured, cloud storage environment, Wuala has you covered. In fact, Wuala throws the whole kitchen, and the kitchen sink at you with feature, more features, and even more online storage features. For example you are able to tie in your entire network, not just one PC, to your backup environment, file versioning is also supported, and you can easily access files already uploaded to your Wuala account, or simply upload them from the Android app itself. Ready for the best part? It’s free.
Indeed, what sets Wuala apart from other online backup apps is the fact that it is free. Yes, pro versions are available, but few will require them thanks to the generous options standard in the free version. Wuala offers a unique approach, wherein they trade the storage space found on your local harddrive with their storage space. You must have at least four hours of connectivity per day to qualify for this trade of service.
Security:
Dropbox may tremble at this news, but Wuala raised the bar even higher by offering file encryption for added security. Hence, files are encrypted and later decrypted thwarting would be data thieves, and protecting your sensitive data.
At the end of the day Wuala is the type of app I truly enjoy, quite simply, it exceeded my expectations.
