Android security with Lock
Need some extra security on your Android device? Lock, from the developer Jinni Lee is a free security based application which is set up to protect the users Android files and applications from any unwanted access. The updated version 2.1 will auto confirm a password if the right words are entered, allow the pattern image to be changed, allow online updating, and the lock application can be shared through Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, Email, and SMS.
Security
Lock is designed around protecting the owners mobile device from prying and unwanted eyes. It is a quick install, and once it is set in place it allows for a full customization from what the user wants protected. Specific files can be chosen and added or removed the protected list at will to give the user full control over what they want to be protected. However, remember that few free apps will completely protect the user’s device from a serious intruder, especially if the device is stolen. The only fault of the app is that it can be uninstalled without a code being needed, therefore freeing up the phone to a dedicated intruder (a pretty gaping problem!).
Options
Lock is a completely customizable app, the files or apps that need to be protected can be kept safe with the same options that android phones come with for general phone protection. The user can either set the protected files up to be kept safe with a numerical code or with a pattern traced on a six point diagram. App lock has a customizable timer system to allow the apps to be relocked after a specific amount of time has passed (on five minute increments) or the user can with the tap of a button instantly lock the protected apps.

Lock has a very professional and functional design to it, without the added frills or attempts to look hip. It simply does the job and does the job effectively.
Value
Lock is definitely a better security app that is available on the market for free. It is worth the space on your phone if you have a secret that you want to be kept hidden from your acquaintances. By no means is it an impenetrable locking device and it will not protect your device if the Android is stolen, it can be worked around hence the overall three stars. But for the average user who just wants to keep snooping friends or family out of their private lives, it’s a solid app!
