Written Android App Review
If you’ve been hunting for some classic pinball action on your Android device, look no further then Pinball Classic Android app! This pizza-joint-game-machine style app from Terran Droid offers everything you’d want in a good game of pinball, including the obnoxious klaxons, sticky bumpers, and cheesy graphics.
Layout and Function
If you’ve ever been exposed to a pinball machine, then you know exactly what an app like Pinball Classic has to offer: Sturdy paddle-based gameplay, lots of shiny objects to hit, and more lights than a Manchester discotheque. The user racks up points by slapping around a pinball with the paddles—which are intuitively controlled by tapping their side of the screen—knocking it into nearby objects.

Pinball Classic for Android
Pinball Classic sports your usual fair of hoops, ramps, bumpers, and side-chutes. In fact, nothing offered here is too innovative, though this hardly lessens the gameplay. Pinball Classic has no pretensions about the fact that it is, at heart, a simple game of pinball. This makes it a clean and engaging, if not totally original, app that will appeal to a wide audience.
Performance
User reviews have been complaining about Pinball Classic’s performance, and though I didn’t experience much lag myself, I did encounter the occasional baffling gaff. When I received texts or calls, obviously, the game wasn’t at fault for causing me to drop a pinball. However, the app would sometimes inexplicably lag just as the pinball reached the tip of a paddle. This made precision shots very tricky, and often frustrating: When the difference between a new high-score and total failure is a single ball drop, any lag at all is quite bothersome. Admittedly, my phone is not a heavy-weight in the House of Android, but considering its track record with other, much more demanding games, I’m inclined to think there are indeed a few bug issues at the heart of Pinball Classic.
Value
All my griping aside, Pinball Classic is one-hundred percent free in the Android Market. Not only that, but it offers stupendously simple (and fun) pinball gameplay that aims to please. The app mostly hits it mark, except for the aforementioned problems with slow-downs, but if you’ve been itching for some quality bumper-time on your Android device, you have nothing to lose. Pinball Classic is a free app that’s easily worth a few minutes in the queue, or even an hour or two sitting on the couch in your underwear. Hopefully future updates will sort out the bugs, and once they’ve been exterminated, Pinball Classic will be a staple in the genre on Android. Consider that a B review, and a recommendation from us!
