Written Android App Review
There are hundreds of Android lottery applications in the Android Market. What makes the Michigan Lottery app different? It was created by developer ePrize at the request of the actual Michigan Lottery, so it’s legit. This is definitely not a run-of-the-mill number generator and results sharer. Michigan takes the mobile lottery app to a whole new level with live game play and more.
Functionality
Michigan Lottery
Admittedly, the Michigan Lottery Android app does have the standard winning numbers area and a number generator for eight different games: Daily 3, Daily 4, Fantasy 5, Classic Lotto 47, Powerball, Mega Millions, Club Keno and Daily Keno. Mobile lottery app users commonly complain about the lack of verified past winning numbers, but I doubt they will have that complaint with Michigan Lottery. You can track winning numbers back to mid-1984.
They take the number generator up a notch with the “shake to create your own lucky numbers” feature. I prefer to think of this feature as instant stress relief. You cannot literally shake the things that frustrate you, but you can shake your phone, gently of course. There is also a list of the current jackpot amounts.
Entertainment Value
Michigan Lottery takes it to the next level with two new app functionalities, the “Club Keno Draws” and the “Player’s Club.” You cannot purchase lottery tickets through the Michigan Lottery app, but you can play on the go by watching live Keno drawings. The “Club Keno Draws” section offers players the most and least successful recent Keno numbers, an option to watch live drawings and view quick results. Results are not valid until they are verified by the Michigan Lottery.
The “Player’s Club” feature is an extension of a Michigan Lottery’s website program by the same name. If your instant ticket isn’t a winner, it gets a second chance at life in the “Player’s Club.” Enter your losing ticket information to earn points. Put your points towards contests where you can win loot. After all, winning is what it’s all about. The “Player’s Club”

feature does require you to register. A handy link the “Player’s Club” menu will lead you to a registration site through your phone’s mobile Web browser.
Design
The lottery is not a shy business, it’s about winning, or at least about scratching brightly-hued dollar signs off of tickets while you hold your breath and wish for big bucks. The Michigan Lottery app does not suffer from false modesty. The signature lottery tree with gold coin foliage is the most subdued design feature of the app. Brilliant blue, green, pink, purple and orange bars guide Michigan Lottery users through a very basic layout. If you get lost, tap on a brightly colored bar to move forward. It is a very direct, but effective, design.
