Learning the Legends of Yore

Legends of Yore is a fun and fast paced RPG that sends its players through a spinning tale of quests and fun. The Android app game is in the very early stages of development, meaning that there are still some rough areas, but updates are being sent daily to add both depth and scope to the overall experience. By the time they are done, this one has the potential to grab the attention and be one of those apps that makes it hard to put your phone down.

Gameplay

For those of you who are familiar with this type of platform, Legends of Yore is a Rogue like game that sends its hero on a mighty quest. Right off the bat the player is given the choice to start their quest as either a warrior, an archer or a wizard. Pick your favorite then get whisked into the game to start fighting through a magical world. Even with the vague graphics, the game is quick to grab the attention and make the user want more. The only downside is that it is difficult to figure out where you should be going or even what you should be doing, much less how to use all the goodies that your character finds. However, with the game still being in the early stages, these are details that will become clearer over time.

One positive note for this game is that play is very very smooth. Players move and scenes change with absolutely no hesitation. Just touch, go and move one. Got to love that!

Graphics

Lets face it, at this time, the graphics for this game are pretty bad. Okay, they are more then just bad, in fact, horrid comes to mind. BUT! Again, this game is in the very early stages of development and updates are coming daily. And, for those who love old’school retro pixel graphics, this may be your cup of tea! What you are looking at is still the Beta version. That is why it is still a free app. They are looking to get feedback on the game as a whole while they work on the fine tuning. The graphics will get better, just give them time.

Value

For those of you who enjoy RPG’s, this game is a blast. And, with a price tag that sports nothing but zeros, what have you got to lose? This is a great addition to your daily gaming fun, and one that only promises to get better with time. Want some advice? Get in now before the price goes up!
