Written Android App Review
We’ve all seen the pics, those startling black and white images that shine with just a touch of color. They are dramatic, they are striking and they are memorable. They are also far out of the realm of what most of us are able to create on our home computer, much less on our phones or other Android devices. At least they were up until now! The Color Touch Effects Android app allows you to add drama to your pics in a fraction of the time. Simply grab a pic from your gallery then use one of the seemingly endless functions to customize it in just that perfect way. The result could be something beautiful and wonderfully brilliant - or, it could be a hot mess. Let’s take just a moment to try and explain.

Functionality
The Color Touch Effects Android app gives the user a huge number of options with which they can customize their photos. Here’s how it works. First, either take a photo or choose one from your gallery to modify. From there choose the desired effect, such as mono tone (black and white), sepia or any one of a host of other options, and the picture will change to reflect that look. Now its time to paint. Choose the paint option then carefully touch the screen only where you want color to appear. This is what gives the pictures that “pop” of color and this function is also what makes this app unique.
Usability
In terms of this Android app, functionality and usability are two very different things. Functionality refers to what the app is capable off, while usability refers to how easy it is to accomplish. In this case, not very easy. See, when a pic is loaded into Color Touch Effects, it opens at a smaller size than what your screen will allow. Then, if you want to add color back into the pic you have to very carefully color only the areas that you want to pop. If you mess up, then there is no way to fix it other than starting over. Its a very tedious process and one that is extremely unforgiving. The ratio of picture size to finger size is grossly out of whack for those wanting to color small precise areas. In short, the app will do everything that it claims, it’s just not as easy as they make it look.
Value
Color Touch Effects is a free app, and that is really its greatest strength. If this were a paid app, then there would be no way I could recommend it to any but those with the steadiest of hands. But, since the risk factor is a big fat zero, then what have you got to lose? After all, it works, its just a matter of having the right picture to work with and the patience to see your project through to the end.
