Written Android App Review
Show of hands….how many of you have Netflix accounts? Yep…I’m right there with you. Now, how many of you are beyond ready to be able to access that Netfilx account right from the comfort of your Android device? Still right there with you! And, that makes me more than a little pleased to let you know that Netflix finally has an Android app! Great news right? Well, it is for some of you.
Compatibility
Netflix
Lets go ahead and get this out of the way right off the bat. Yes, Netflix is now available on your Android device. The app is free and, as long as you have a Netflix account, you can use it to your heart’s content……as long as you have the right phone. The only real problem with this App is that, at this time, it is only available on a very select number of Android based devices. Now, that is likely to change as the app is updated and more devices are added. But, for the time being if you’re not on the list, then you’re out of luck. Want to know who made the cut? I’ll make it easy for you.
Netflix playback is currently supported on the following Android devices:
• HTC Incredible with Android 2.2
• HTC Nexus One with Android 2.2, 2.3
• HTC Evo 4G with Android 2.2
• HTC G2 with Android 2.2
• Samsung Nexus S with Android 2.3
Navagation
If your phone made the list, then you should find that the app loads well and is very easy to use. In fact, one of the best things about this app is how easy it is to work with. Netflix is laid out well to begin with, and they have carried their straight forward design over to the Android format. As you pull up your account you will see four different tabs labeled across the top of your screen. Simply choose which area you are looking for and click. Also, the amount of information on the screen at any time, is cut down to the minimum, leaving your view uncluttered and extremely easy to follow.

Features
If compatibility is the weakness of this app, then features are its greatest strength. Opening the Netflix app on your Android device is exactly like pulling up your account on your home computer. Anything that you can do on your computer you can do on your phone. This means you can check or update your queue, run searches to find out the status of your favorite movies or even watch movies or tv shows from your instant queue. And you can do it all at the click of a button. Love it!
Overall Netflix has done a great job of bringing their service to the Android platform. Those users who already have accounts will have better access to them and will enjoy being able to monitor and manage no matter where they are. As soon as the compatibility issues are cleared up this will be a 5-star app all the way around!
