Written Android App Review
Cyberlords is an interactive Android app game where you control a crew of resistance fighters on the path to freedom. Big business is holding humanity down in this sci-fi fighter. Lead your team to victory and bring hope to humankind.
Cyberlords
Gameplay
When I performed the Android apps review I found that Cyberlords is a heady mix of Final Fantasy for your Android meets old school Zelda-style RPG game play. Find and arm your crew of four fighters with gear, weapons, ammunition
and skills. Navigate through a labyrinth of rooms fighting off ruffians and gleaning information from obliging characters. Collect keys and other items from your slain foes and readily available boxes or bunkers.
Treat your characters as a unit or separately to conduct more efficient fights. I found myself randomly in control of one member but missing the other three several times during game play. It is easy enough to activate group actions by pressing on any crew member and selecting the group icon, so watch it or you may end surrounded by baddies without your fearless team.
Buy weapons, ammo and other goods from obliging shop keepers located strategically throughout the game. Check in with your team’s champion at Thor headquarters to keep you on the right path, and use a handy map to make sure you’re headed the right way.
You can play Cyberlords at four different levels of difficulty, adding a bit more interest to an otherwise straightforward game. The story is relatively predictable, but several throw-back game ideas, such as familiar character archetypes and an omniscient narrator keep this game amusing enough to pursue. What can I say? I’m a sucker for sci-fi action.

Layout and Design
This is not the most masterful example of design work I’ve ever seen. But a pretty constant level of action keeps this game from falling flat on its crude two dimensional graphics. It took me a few moments to sort out game navigation and interaction. The doorways specifically appeared nondescript. However, the introductory level is fairly painless and you may save your progress at any point to avoid repeating steps.
Your players’ stats are located on the left-hand side of the game screen. On the bottom press the menu icon to launch save options, load different games, change your settings, exit the game or check your quest log. Tap any member of your team to apply armor, update stats or coordinate healing. Employ the hourglass icon to enter tactical mode, pausing game play and giving you a chance to make any necessary adjustments to your team.
Value
There are two versions of Cyberlords available in the Android market, one free version and one priced at $1.41. If you find yourself spending any quality amount of time playing the game, it’s worth the $1.41 investment to avoid annoying advertising placement. The free app has a permanent add strip at the top of the screen that can be very distracting. At either price, Cyberlords, with its kitschy plot of cyborg overlords and throw-back gaming fun, is a solid investment.
