Written Android App Review
The jig is up. Television networks realize it’s good to have an Android app. It makes users happy and can introduce a new audience (the mobile audience) to their content and wares. The Cartoon Network brings their toon-tastic content to Android with Cartoon Network Video, a free app with an expanding content library.

Cartoon Network Video
Functionality
When I performed the Android App review, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of content available in the Cartoon Network app. View clips, whole episodes and extras from shows such as “Adventure Time,” “Batman – The Brave and the Bold,” and “Hole In The Wall.”
Browse through viewing options using options on the home screen, by title in the “Show” tab or by popularity. Cartoon Network Video also has a mobile Cartoon Network schedule and an option to share the Android app via e-mail or Facebook.
I tapped on the teaser for upcoming “Thundercats” content then checked in on “Generator REX.” There was definitely some solid content quality. Looks like they make the good stuff available to stream; though the user experience will vary based on network quality. I definitely suggest watching any content in landscape mode to avoid teeny tiny videos.
There is a lot of potential in this Android app, especially if Cartoon Network Digital continues to flesh out the app’s back catalog. Cartoon Network fits a specific niche of entertainment very well, on the television and on Android. There is no content filter option in this app, parents.

Cartoon Network Video
User Interface
Cartoon Network Video for Android takes users to a most recent page when launched. There are also three rotating graphics giving users news and advising them of upcoming content that will be added. Users can browse content through the shows tab located at the bottom of the screen. Find your favorite program and tap on it to scroll through available clips and episodes.
My menu button was useless in this Android app, though the “Back” button functions perfectly well and is necessary to navigate properly. Any additional options you want to change or update may be accessed by pressing “More” then selecting the proper topic. I did experience a few frozen screens while clicking links that lead me to Cartoon Network’s mobile site.
Cartoon Network Video is an extremely easy app to use. Bright colors and flashing graphics make this an ideal choice for kids, teens or anyone looking to get their “Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated” on.
Value
The Cartoon Network Video app is free. There’s no sign in process or account to validate. Simply download and enjoy. Cartoon Network Video gets extra points for ease of use.
