Written Android App Review
Go toe-to-toe (or is it gear-to-gear?) with the Robotek Android app. Evil robots have taken over the world in a “great robot uprising.” It’s your job to hone your skills and free humanity by fighting to the finish, competing against robots of varying strength and skill in nodes across the world.

Robotek
Gameplay
Did I enjoy this Android app review? You bet! Robotek pits your good, human defending robots against the mainframes of the evil robots. Travel around the world from node to node conducting battles. Win battles to earn points, hone skills and keep defeating higher level nodes, eventually reclaiming the globe for humanity.
The majority of this Android game is in a verses battle format where you and the opponent will take turns attempting to deplete each other’s health, monitored at the bottom of the screen. Equip your side by tapping the bright green arrow in the upper left-hand corner and engaging the slot machine. Activate helpful robots in the “Warfare” tab, defensive technics in the “Hacking” tab and outright frontal attacks in the “Powers” tab. Each group has three possible symbols to land on. Landing on multiples of the same slot machine symbol will create stronger actions. For example, if you select the “Warfare” tab and roll three consecutive “Drone” symbols. You will activate an “Elite Drone” with enhanced fighting abilities and strengths.
Deplete your opponent’s health without going under and reclaim that node for humankind. Additional gameplay for this Android app includes earning points to enhance your skills, conquering entire countries, and leveling up by achieving point goals.

Robotek
My description, though thorough, cannot capture how purely fun the Robotek Android app really is. There’s something truly engaging about this game. The variety of results and scenarios make gameplay quite addictive. I began playing Robotek for my Android Apps Review, but I kept playing it for several hours because it is just that fun without getting bored, which is saying something.
User Experience
Despite a slightly involved gameplay scenario, a thorough tutorial and helpful game prompts make playing Robotek for Android as easy as it is fun. If you like to read the user manual before putting something together, tap on the “Tutorial” icon on the start page for a clearly put explanation of all the game functions. If you’re more of a hands-on learner, click “Campaign” and get your bot on.
This Android app also has clear, fun graphics that make it fun to play. No details are lost on users as they select their weapons and beat up nasty bots. I usually find game sound effects slightly irritating, but never felt the need to mute them in Robotek. There’s even a convenient sliding scale where you can adjust the sound effect and music levels manually. This app is engaging, fun and easy. Thumbs up, Robotek.

Robotek
Value
Robotek is a free Android app. Game play is supported by in-game purchases of points. Robotek developer Hexage claims it is possible to play and beat the entire game without making a purchase. The key is to keep winning. Losing battles results in your game score being reduced. Once your score gets below a certain point, you can no longer play levels without purchasing more credits. Free is a great value. Free with no ads is amazing. Playing the entire game without losing seems like a stiff challenge to savvy game players. You up to it?
Android Apps Review Details: Robotek Android app is free. This app requires Android 2.2 and up. You may download Robotek from the Android Market.
