Written Android App Review
If you like Angry Birds, you will love Cloudy! Using a similar layout, Cloudy is a puzzle game with 50 (very tricky) levels. The idea is to find the best route for a paper airplane to take which allows it to ‘pop’ all the stars as well as avoid any clouds. But it isn’t as easy as it sounds!
Gameplay
Cloudy is a mathematically based puzzle game – no, you won’t be solving equations. But you will be putting your geometry skills to the test!

Cloudy
Essentially, your paper plane must make it from point A to point B in one fluid motion and pop all the stars in between. This is accomplished by a movable vector line with specific movable points. As the patterns get more complex, more points are available. However, this game requires quite a bit of “thinking outside the box” in order to warp the line enough to get all the stars in one shot. You might use a zig-zag pattern one time but have to create a series of loops the next. Each level gets harder and you just might find yourself getting a little irritated at not being able to find the right combination of points to get all the stars. This is much like Angry Birds, in that sometimes those little pigs are just hard to hit! And the leveling system is identical to Angry Birds. Thanks to its highly challenging and addictive nature, I award Cloud five golden stars for gameplay (although it has thousands of golden stars in its game already!).
Scoring
There is one huge feature which separates Angry Birds from Cloudy (besides the fact Cloudy has no pigs or birds of course). Cloudy measures your score by how much time has elapsed instead of how much damage is done. Clearly then, it is in your best interest to complete rounds as quickly as possible. However, the dynamics of the game make this incredibly hard to do the first time around. Not until you’ve beat the round once do you have a shot at getting anything more than one star. The developer was certainly ingenious in this regards, so I award five golden stars for scoring.
Graphics
Angry Birds has a pretty cheerful looking background with cute graphics (despite the violent nature of the game) but Cloudy is almost serene like in nature. The background scene is of small green rolling hills atop a backdrop of bright blue skies with puffy white clouds passing by. Even when the storm clouds appear the setting still feels tranquil. The bright golden stars hang in the sky while the white paper airplane eagerly awaits its ride on the vector line. The points are highlighted by bright green circles and squares which only add to the overall ‘happy’ feeling this game provokes. As frustrating as it can be to beat each level, I always felt happy while playing. Its almost Zen like. Five stars goes to Cloudy for its beautiful graphics.
Value
If you enjoy puzzle games, especially ones that will try to stretch your mind to its limits, you need to get this game. Its highly addictive nature, excellent gameplay, clever scoring and bright graphics will have you playing for hours. Best of all? It’s free! Therefore, I award another five golden stars for value. Go get it today!
