Written Android App Review

In today’s world mobility is king and Android apps are critical. People are on the go more than ever before and, the business world is having to find new and ever more creative ways to keep up. This is where the Dropbox Android app comes in. This one Android app works to integrate all facets of your life with just a few clicks of the mouse. (Or taps of the screen as the case may be!) Save a file to Dropbox and it is instantly shared to all of your computers, your Android device and even the Dropbox website. Meaning that you have access to your files any time and any where. Let’s take a few moments to learn more about this intriguing Android app.

Dropbox

Features

This Android app review will show you just how simple the concept is. Just save a file to your Dropbox on either your home computer or Android device, and that file will automatically save to all registered devices on your account. It also saves to the Dropbox website.

But what does this mean to you?

It means that you have access to your files any time and any where. No more searching for the file that you need or running back to the office because you’ve forgotten to add something important to your jump drive. With Dropbox you have what you need when you need it. In this way Dropbox is very similar to many of the Cloud based apps that are starting to pop up on the Android market. The difference here is that the Cloud programs see to provide better overall security to their users. If Dropbox were to improve their encryption, then I could improve their rating.

Functionality

During the review process functionality proved to be the so called weak link for this Android app. The reality is that Dropbox can be confusing to use. The design takes some getting used to and the application is not always straightforward in its delivery.

Plus it froze….more than once.

After spending some time learning its quirks, Dropbox worked well and could prove to be a very useful addition to your Android device. I just don’t enjoy having to spend that much time learning the finer points of an Android app. I prefer Android apps with a cleaner layout and that work each and every time I pull them up. I know it can be done, I’ve seen it done and I use several different apps on a daily basis that manage it quite well. Dropbox just isn’t quite there yet. I’ll put them in the category of good, but they haven’t made it to great.

Value

Is Dropbox worth the money? Well, as a free app, I would say so! At the end of the day Dropbox has quite a bit to offer those who are willing to take the time to figure it out. If you are one of those people, then give it a shot. It will cost you nothing and you might just find something great in the process!
