Written Android App Review
Why should young whippersnappers have all the fun? Tackle tough terrain with a slightly more mature heroine in Turbo Grannies from Imperial Game Studio. Turbo Granny Android App has busted out of her boring nursing home. She knows how to shred and isn’t afraid to hit the slopes and the accelerator hard. Go ahead, take Granny for a spin. If you go far and fast enough they’ll never catch her.
Gameplay
While performing my Android app review for Turbo Grannies I took on a variety of courses with Turbo Granny herself, a grey haired devil in a supped up hover round who can throw down. Navigate Granny through progressively difficult courses. Get to the finish before running out of time to pass a level. If you take a spill it’s back to the last check-in point. You and Turbo Granny have some ground to cover.
Turbo Grannies
Before you dismiss this game give it a try. It’s not as easy as you sound. These levels are littered with twists, turns, loops, tunnels and more. Nothing is as it seems. Sometimes you just have to rev your little blue scooter and hit the gas to find out what’s next.
This game would be impossibly hard if it wasn’t for the check points. Beginning to end each of these levels is fun, challenging and amusing. Keep Granny in her turbo-charged chair at all times to win.
Controls
Control your dashing diva Turbo Granny by pressing the lower right-hand corner to give her gas and go forward, and the lower left-hand corner to put on the breaks or go backward. It’s also imperative that you use your Android’s accelerometer to keep Granny level, landing with her wheels on the ground. Landing any other way slingshots poor Granny out of the chair. Tilt your Android to the left and right to correct her trajectory and keep her going.
Turbo Grannies
Keeping Turbo Granny in control can be a challenge. She’s a firecracker. Give yourself a few minutes to get used to the controls. If you still aren’t making progress, pause the game and adjust the sensitivity up and down for optimal control.
Graphics and Design
Turbo Grannies has four different sets of courses, “Mountains,” “Suburbia,” “Florida” and “Desert,” with new levels in Las Vegas coming soon. Each set of courses is unique and interesting. The true design masterpiece is grannie herself. Grannie rocks and rumbles, bouncing off of boulders and walls, her limbs flailing gracefully. This is some good graphic design work. Otherwise the Turbo Grannies app for Android is a solid piece of work. The graphics aren’t earth shattering, but someone put some heart and soul into their work.
Value
Turbo Grannies costs $1.11, which is on the lower end of the cost spectrum. There’s also a free trial version you can use to find out if Turbo Grannies is for you. This challenging game is bound to catch your attention. Hours of Turbo Granny fun is definitely worth the investment.
