At first glance, this Android app seems pretty simple, and it is….for an adult! But the fun repetition and large variety of activities is right on the money when we are talking about the preschool crowd. In short, good luck getting your Android back!

Here is the basic idea. With the Monkey Preschool Lunchbox Android App, your little one will work through a variety of activities as they help their new monkey friends pack a healthy, fruit filled lunch for the day. Along the way they work on colors, counting, puzzles, matching and much much more. It’s fun, its fast paced and it will leave your little one coming back for more time and time again.
There are several standout features of this game that take it from being good to being great. The first is that every few activities the child is rewarded with a sticker they can add to their board. Their sticker choices change and after awhile, the board starts to fill letting the child see just how much they have accomplished.
Next, you will never see the same activity back to back. By interspersing different concepts in random order kids are always guessing about what will be next. Then they get excited when their favorites pop up.
Lastly, I love that none of the “lessons” are very long. Really just a few seconds and then you are on to the next. This means that there is no need for a long attention span. Your little one answers the monkey’s question and then the Android app quickly moves on to the next.
Fun Factor
As I sit here writing this Android app review I can hear little monkey’s chirping at me from over on the couch. There are also many many giggles coming from the same direction. Clearly this Android app is a hit. But its more than just pretty colors. The developers have done a nice job of balancing the game so that it grabs the child’s attention without becoming boring or redundant.
Value
At $1.99 this Android app is moderately priced. But is it a good value? Yes, I believe that it is. Monkey Preschool Lunchbox is simple enough that your child can operate it on their own without your assistance and does a nice job of teaching several simple concepts. We have been using it for over a week now and the kids aren’t tired of it yet. Not sure exactly how long it will keep their attention, but so far so good. $1.99 for a week of peace? I’ll take that deal!
