Written Android App Review

While I definitely think that bugs do not belong in my house, I am perfectly OK with them residing out in the great wide world. Now it appears they have invaded my Android, but, to be honest, I don’t really mind. After spending time with my Android app review for I found that Bugs populate Bug Village is an adorable civilization building app for Android that has me rethinking my bug policy all together.

Gameplay

In the Bug Village Android app you build houses, set tasks, bop away baddies and even decorate an adorable village built for bugs. I like builder games, so with the cute characters from films such as “A Bug’s Life” in mind, I started my Android app review.

Bug Village

The idea is simple. Build a thriving, busy civilization for nearby ants, bees and other friendly bug types. Complete tasks to level up and build a bigger, better home for your insect friends. Earn points by collecting acorns and experience points. Build work piles and set your hordes to it, collecting goods. There are even tiny decorations and pieces of furniture you can use to make your bug village friendly.

On top of the satisfaction of seeing a bustling town pop up under your fingers, there are also evil stink bugs to take care of before they stink up your home town and lion ants to defeat or else your bugs might start having trouble. The interactive world and fun missions make Bug Village a great game to play with a long shelf life.

User Interface

Use standard pinch and zoom techniques to get a better view of the little hamlet you have to build in. Watch your progress and food meters in the upper left-hand corner, and keep track of tasks on the right hand side of the screen. Bottom icons give you access to shop menus. They are organized by housing and decorations, food, and piles.

Bug Village

It is easy to navigate through zoom and swipes, and on-screen icons remain relatively unobtrusive and easy to use. I have no complaints about the user interface, although occasionally a stink bug will get behind a structure and it’s a little hard to get ahold of them.

Graphics

There is an extremely high level of 3D detail in the graphics of Bug Village Android app. The app constantly has something in motion. Bright colors, interesting backdrops and high quality design make Bug Village a lot more fun to play. This app gets an A + for graphic design work, and for fitting a lot of great detail in a small space.

Value

Bug Village Android app is free to download. There are some adds peppered throughout the application, such as on the load screen, but they are small and unobtrusive. There is an in-game purchase option to speed up tasks, but for casual game play I have not needed to purchase anything to enjoy this app.
