Written Android App Review
If you’re yearning for an Android app that can help you reclaim those years of teenage glory where sinking basket after basket in your mall arcade’s basketball game made you feel like a god basking in the adoration of mere mortals, your search is over. Download Stardunk Android app and enter the eternal tomes of point scoring glory.
Gameplay
StarDunk is a hooptastic Android app that pits you in a global scoring battle. I’m a big fan of retro-style action, and StarDunk is definitely reminiscent of games such as Space Jam and, yes, your favorite arcade basketball shooting game.
StarDunk
The concept is simple: working from the location that the game places your ball, work the angle to sink shot after shot. You can use the handy backboard to make bank shots, but you get more a bonus for points that are nothing but net. Boosts and special triple shots help make the game more interesting. The real fun comes from Open Feint interaction.
I am always leery of giving Open Feint the credit that is really due to a stellar app. StarDunk may be one exception. If you are going to play StarDunk, log in to Open Feint. Using Open Feint you can play against other users worldwide online, opening up a whole new bag of tricks in this app. Participate in contests and earn points to open up new game features along the way.
Customization
There are a lot of customization options in StarDunk including different backgrounds, custom balls, volume and sound effect control, and even bonuses that can up your in-app game like a pair of Air Jordans upped your game back in middle school.
I like having options, but a lot of these features come with a catch. Keep reading to find out what I mean.
User Interface
StarDunk
The majority of StarDunk Android app game control is all about the drag and drop. Pull the ball trajectory around the screen to make your shots. The app is extremely responsive and I didn’t have a single issue with the user interface. Pause buttons and point indicators are kept small and unobtrusive giving you optimal game play space.
Customization and menu navigation is equally easy. Your Android’s back button and an on screen back button functions as a main navigation tool.
Value
StarDunk Android app is free to download. I love free! But I hate feeling sucked in to making in app purchases. Sure, you can play the game for hours to earn enough points to upgrade to the first set of new ball patterns and backgrounds, but some of this stuff is seriously cool and I don’t have weeks of free time lying around to spend earning it. Maybe I just didn’t feel like being teased today, but I would have rather spent a little dough up front on this app than be pushed into making impulse purchases while I play.
