Written Android App Review

Welcome to Zombie Village. The zombie apocalypse has come. All other humans have fallen to their brain craving ways, now it’s up to you and your trusty sidearm to make it out with an intact cranium. Let’s slay this Android app review.

Gameplay

Here’s the scene. You are a lumbering zombie killing machine with a blonde Mohawk and the future’s so bright you’ve gotta wear shades. Thankfully your ensemble also includes a handgun, because the zombies are most definitely after your mushy brain goodies.

Zombie Village

For my Android app review I walked our muscle bound hero through Zombie Village, occasionally turning from side to side to take a shot at a zombie after his brains. As I progressed the zombies got a bit tougher and a bit thicker on the ground. The idea is to earn dough and amo by destroying the recently reanimated.

Zombie Village’s description claims the game will continue until your brains are eaten. I made it through a few levels before being eaten. The trick is to purchase better weapons and keep enough amo in your pig sticker to fend off your hungry friends. It’s a simple but pretty addictive game. I wish there was a little more complexity, but am always down for a zombie app.

User Interface

This simple game has a simple user interface. There isn’t even a tutorial, that’s how easy this game is. Press the right arrow to make Mohawk man move right, press the left arrow to make Mohawk man move left. Press the red and green buttons to engage the residents of Zombie Village in combat. Hit em til they stop moving and get the heck out of dodge.

Zombie Village

On-screen controls are kept relatively simple and other than the pause button they are relegated to the bottom of the screen.

Graphics & Design

With the wealth of zombie games that are out there today I expected a little bit of sparkle from Zombie Village Android app. Keeping with the app’s MO, graphics are really simple. The most intricate bit of design involves the dying zombies, which spread a bit of gore across the road with a satisfying splat.

Truthfully, this game has a pretty retro feeling. It’s about as advanced as an original Nintendo game. But it seems like this was more of an accident in halfhearted design than an attempt to stir nostalgic sentiments.

Value

Zombie Village can be yours for the untouchable price of zilch. I love free stuff, but don’t see a particularly long shelf life for Zombie Village Android app.
