Written Android App Review

Through the power of the laws of physics, and with a few helpful friends along the way, you can guide Bubu home in the Take Me Home Android app. I’ll be honest, if I was lost in the rainforest, I’d want someone to Take Me Home, too. It helps that Bubu is a poor defenseless spore who’s pretty darn cute.

Gameplay

In Take Me Home Android app a simple tap gets Bubu started on his way. The idea is to guide Bubu from the flower he finds himself by to his home flower.

Take Me Home

Each course is a series of obstacles, boosts and some evil bugs. The trick is to get Bubu going in the right direction. Bounce off friendly surfaces. Use boosters to make it over ledges and up hills. You can even hitch a ride on some of the friendly forest creates that want to help you on your way.

Collect coins as you travel through each level to earn points and open new levels. There are currently four level packs in Take Me home, with 16 levels each, and more packs on the way. Some of these levels get pretty darn hard. You can use your coins to buy in-app tips, or restart the level and give it a go another way.

User Interface

The most complicated thing you’ll be doing in Take Me Home Android app is dragging and dropping boosts in the right places. Each item reacts properly with no lag or delay. There is no in-app tutorial (other than a heads up feature on a level if you have a new feature) or really any settings or controls in Take Me Home Android app. Simple can be nice, but that’s stretching it.

I did notice a curious lack of any in-app navigation buttons. Your Android back button will work like a charm to navigate backwards, but a home button would have been nice.

Take Me Home app review

Take Me Home

I really like the colorful graphics of each level in the Take Me Home Android app. There is a high level of accuracy and natural forces such as gravity are represented very realistically. You can tell developers put some effort into making Take Me Home look special and game play is much better for it.

Value

It behooves me to mention that sometimes Take Me Home feels like a vehicle for advertisements. I understand that people make apps to make money, not just out of the goodness of their hearts, but in addition to the traditional banner ad, sometimes ads take over the screen randomly and you have to exit out of them to get away.

Still, Take Me Home for Android is free and a lot of fun. If the game stunk or wasn’t challenging I’d be more upset with the fact that half the buttons in the game lead you to in-app purchases, ads or other downloads.
