Written Android App Review
Dragons are all the rage these days. I blame the insanely adorable movie “How to Train Your Dragon” and the fact that those fire breathers are just so darn cute in their youth.
Either way, now you have a chance to raise your own scaled bundle of joy in the Drago Pet Android app. Hatch your winged protégé from an egg, and then tend to its every need in this Tamagotchi style caretaker app.
Gameplay
The whole point of the Drago Pet Android app is to keep the environment ideal for your hatchling to grow and thrive. When your little monster is still an egg that means keeping the egg at the ideal temperature, or else you’ll be waiting for it to hatch a long time.

When your very own baby dragon comes out to play in the Drago Pet Android app it needs to be entertained, cleaned up after, fed, disciplined and otherwise cared for. It also helps that you get to give your little one a name.
I’ll be honest; the idea behind this game is not revolutionary. Drago Pet is a relatively new Android app, and it has some growing to do. Gameplay is suitable for all ages, but I have a feeling it is really going to draw in a younger crowd of kids to play.
According to developers, future improvements will include dragon to dragon interaction over a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection, and additional mini games where you can hunt for food for your dragon.
Layout & Design
There is some OK 3D graphic design work in the Drago Pet Android app. The most interesting graphics are the transition pictures, which are lovely 2D illustrations of dragons that are sure to delight users.
Interacting with your dragon is easily done through a small row of action buttons at the bottom of the screen. A notification bar status update is helpful and easy to use. Use the menu button to access additional app settings, menus and help.
Functionality
Drago Pet
Several things quickly confused me about the functionality of the Drago Pet Android app. I quickly learned that closing the app was not an option. For your dragon to hatch, grow or make any progress, the app must be actively running on your phone.
That’s a pretty hard concept for me. I perpetually close my apps to help maintain optimal battery strength. No such luck. If you want to play the game, you have to let it run. I did not notice any huge battery drain from the app, but still find it frustrating that I have to leave the app open and running to do anything at all.
Value
Drago Pet Android app is free to download. It’s a pretty cute app that might appeal to a child for a little while. However I do not think the app’s quality or functionality are up to par.
