Written Android App Review

Let’s face it, either you or someone you know probably wants to lose weight. It’s the price we pay for living in a body conscious society. You’ve probably heard about an Android app or two that claim to have all the answers, too.

In a market overwhelmed with fitness apps, I would choose Lose It! for my weight loss management any day. This free app isn’t full of gimmicks and does not promise overnight results. It’s laid back style and super friendly format has quickly made it my fitness app of choice.

Dig in to my Android app review of Lose It! and see what I mean.

Lose It! Android Apps Review

Reviewed by Valerie Lauer

The Lose It! Android app allows you to input your current information and goal to create a custom plan that can get you healthy safely. On the surface it’s easy to think of the Lose It! app as a food and exercise journaling app, because it does do those things very well.

The ever expanding food library has popular restaurants, countless food items, and options to create custom entries, meals and recipes. The same is true on the exercise front. Everything from cleaning the house and archery to billiards and Wii Fit activities are there, and you can input custom exercises, too.

More importantly, the Lose It! Android app lets you monitor your daily progress in real time, making it easier to stay on track. Daily dietary values are available for all food items.

I really love this app, despite the fact that the Lose It! Android app does not have a pedometer, contain any crazy diet plans or dozens of useless workout descriptions. The idea is simple and smart. Use more calories of energy a day than you put in. The proof, as they say, is in the pudding.

Social Factor

Lose It!

There is also a social aspect to Lose It! which allows you to invite friends to join you in your crusade for health. Use the app to invite friends via email, or there are other ways to get your social groove on while you drop the pounds.

Lose It! interfaces with Twitter and Facebook, making it easy to post your progress to your adoring public. You can even use the Lose It! app’s website to make new buddies who will cheer you on. There’s an amazing forum system there. Any friends you make appear in an activity stream on your Lose It! Android app. It’s also important that I mention this app has a huge, loyal following from it’s previous iPhone incarnation. You won’t be doing this alone.

Layout & Design

I need to include a brief shout out to the Lost It! Android app design team. This app is well thought out and intelligently designed, making it a pleasure to use.

A simple top tab design puts your daily info, log, friends, goals and more at your fingertips. Fun graphics and interesting touches complete the picture.

Value

It’s hard to put a price on health. In this case, you don’t have to. The Lose It! Android app is free to download and use. Best of all there’s no catch. Get this app and let it change your life. It’s changing mine.

  1. You forgot to mention that iOS (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) users had Lose It! for years. Since 2008 I believe. Another example of Android getting late what iOS had already.

It’s a great app just a little late coming to Android users.

Hey how about trying to get Android to port some good iOS games like Chaos Rings Omega? Angry Birds is dated.
