Written Android App Review
If you dig crawling through dungeons and never ending action, you’ll love our Android app review for Emissary of War, the new action RPG from Cedar Hill Games.
Concept & Gameplay

In the Emissary of War Android app you guide Ghent and his bumbling sidekick, Hassock, on a mission of peace. Just kidding. Your job is to lay down the law with Ghent’s blade and Hassock’s potions as they defend the territory of the Dominion. Adventure lies around every corner.
As dungeon crawlers go this app is pretty sweet. The snarky dialogue is hilarious, definitely adding another level of fun to an otherwise straightforward combat game.
Be sure to collect coins and rune stones, which you simply do by standing near them. These game currencies can be spent to upgrade weapons, health and other vital stats for Ghent and Hassock. There are only five upgrades in each category which seems a little weak considering the rest of the game’s stellar attributes.
Fights are pretty even matches. So, while you actually have to try to win a battle, at least you have a sporting chance if you play smart.
Layout & Design
Emissary of War
As graphics go, the Emissary of War Android app is simply amazing. The 3D rendering is not perfect, but each character, level and story animation is unique and just plain good.
If you’ve ever played World of Warcraft with the graphics turned down a bit, then the quality here will seem familiar. That’s not easy to find on an Android, despite our favorite platform ruling some seriously stellar screens. It’s a nice change to see a game that makes effective use of the technology.
All the action is controlled via simple touch. Touch a spot to make Ghent and Hassock run there. Touch an opponent to aim your attacks. No fussy on-screen joysticks or malfunctioning dash features here. Sometimes simplicity really is best.
Functionality
Even in battles with ten or more opponents, the Emissary of War Android app delivers. We did not experience a single stumble or crash with this game, despite playing it for quite a while.
Some user reviews do report the occasional issue with slow loading graphics on busy screens, but we just didn’t have that problem, or any other. This app is solid as a rock.
Value
It’s hard to believe all that dungeon crawling RPG action can be your’s for the low price of $.99, but it’s true. No ads to contend with, and no overtly annoying in-app purchase schemes here. Just one awesome game with an extremely fair price tag.
Action adventure RPG fans need to get this game. If you’ve been on the fence about the genre, it’s time to pony up a buck and get your rampage on with Emissary of War on Android.
