Mafia Farm: Written Android App Review

So stick em up see, your wheat stalks that is. Get ready to fall in love with this odd couple of gaming styles all over again in our Android app review of Mafia Farm.
Gameplay
Reviewed by Valerie Lauer
Like any good civilization or farming game, you will work a homestead, planting and harvesting crops, building shops and decorating your grounds however you please. Then the mob mentality comes into play. Add a handy sandbag wall around your haven, you know, just in case a rival mob decides to attack.
There’s an entire raid style game built into the app, very much like Mafia Wars, where you identify other players, scout their goods and take a shot at their base to see what you can make off with. You’ll also build your gang, equip them with weapons and gather an impressive collection of vehicles, from sweet motorcycles to private planes.
This game is seriously complex, with a skill point system on top of both of those other responsibilities. Despite the large amount of work to do, the game layout is simple and easy. It’s not hard to play, and all the variety keeps Mafia Farm moving. It’s pretty hard to get bored playing, which is more than we can say for most builders out there.
Graphics
Mafia Farm
The graphics in Mafia Farm are stellar. The farm/base looks like many other farming or civilization games, with plots of ground perfect for growing crops or buildings. Stats and menus are kept small and minimally obtrusive, while the raid, job and market menus are colorful and easy to navigate. The mafia theme carries throughout. Even the loading animation is on task, with a spinning gun barrel.
Our favorite finish touches are many of the games load screens, which feature hardened thugs with rough faces playing cards with chickens and appear in other farm scenes. It’s a slight, and we caught ourselves giggling a time or two at the adorable absurdity of it all.
Overall Value
Not only is this game an intelligent twist on two over worked gaming concepts, it’s priced to move. You can download Mafia Farm for free. Of course, there’s a whole system of in-app purchase options you can use to deck out your crew and build a banging farm, but really, for casual gamers, this game is a super solid value.
Bottom line, we highly suggest giving Mafia Farm a gander, or even playing obsessively. It’s a load of light hearted fun.
