In Ball Crushers you compete against various enemies in pursuit of dodge ball glory. Thanks to a few handy tutorials and introductory gameplay that’s perfectly paced, you’ll catch on pretty quick. Controls are simple. Tap a player to select them, then tilt to control their movements. You’ll throw balls and other items from your arsenal (because “if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball”) to defeat your enemy team.
This game has a pretty fun story line. You may start playing dodge ball in the school yard, but you’ll end up laying down the law all over town for a truly engaging conquest. The gameplay reminds us a little bit of a group fighter, only the weapons are super simplified and the app can be appropriate for kids, as long as you leave the optional gore setting off.
There’s even a cool survival mode featuring zombies if you manage to beat the game or collect enough points. Loads of fun achievements and items you can add to your arsenal only up the charm factor for Ball Crushers.
Layout & Design

The game screen can get pretty busy in Ball Crushers, and it definitely looks great on a tablet screen. The graphics are decidedly 2-D and cartoonish, but it only adds to the app’s innate charm. Ball Crushers lets you customize your team’s jersey and the color ball you start with.
As for controls, we think it’s a little rough to throw on the go, especially on a tablet. So it’s almost better to return your device to the zero position and throw from there. You’ll have much better accuracy. To throw you simply swipe your finger from the active player in the direction of your opponent. There’s a neat dodge ability that you can activate by double tapping a player, to give your team a fighting chance. And, of course, there’s always old fashioned tilt to dodge. It’s the stuff evasive maneuvers were made for.

Ball Crushers is priced to move at just $.99. We can’t say enough about how much fun this game is. The interface is intuitive, the gameplay is smart and we are big fans. All the extras, like Facebook and Twitter integration, make Ball Crushers shine. We suggest you go warm up, because it is so on.
