Enchanted Realm: Written Android Apps Review

The latest trend in civilization builders, Enchanted Realm, combines fantasy, a glowing winter theme and classic builder gameplay for a rousing success. This game, from Cooper Media Corp, has all the hallmarks of a success and we were happy to give it a spot here on Android Apps Review.

In Enchanted Realm you take over a downtrodden town as the new monarch. By building houses, creating jobs and keeping the town in tip top shape, you’ll earn your subjects’ trust, be promoted to king, and generally rule over bounty and plenty.

We like the game mechanics in Enchanted Realm, which include a farming aspect, building aspect and a land clearing function. There are the prerequisite quests and directives that can help you get ahead, especially early in the game, but you are more than welcome to ignore them and create a city in your own image, just don’t expect the townspeople to be happy with you right away.

There’s a really cool story book aspect to the game, and magic plays a pretty prevalent roll in how the story unfolds. We dig these fantasy themes and think it makes Enchanted Realms a civ builder you’ll want to watch.

Enchanted Realm starts out hot and heavy, and you can watch a gilded civilization of frosty buildings and bustling townsfolk pop up beneath your fingers in moments. Then, like almost every other civilization builder out there, the game slows. It’s the natural order of things, so we’re not too surprised by this turn of events. There are ways to get ahead faster, by means of a carefully cultivated set of in-app purchases of course, but if you have a bit of patience you can check in on Enchanted Realm a couple of times a day and get along swimmingly.

A frosty motif and truly delightful soundtrack make Enchanted Realm a seasonal sensation. We really dig the blinking lights, horse drawn carriages and other unique and delightful touches. The graphics are a bit stronger than what we’ve seen in other civ builders, a pleasant surprise.

Using the app is relatively easy. On Android devices with smaller screens the game feels a bit busy, and we do wish the menus collapsed a bit more to make better use of the screen real estate. It looks pretty good on a tablet, though. So, if you have an option, we suggest digging in to the Enchanted Realm Android app on one of those.

Overall Value

Adding Enchanted Realm to your app library won’t cost you anything, and, as we mentioned, with a healthy dose of patience you can enjoy the game without spending any money. Other than its fun winter theme, story line and some design features, this app is a lot like thousands of other civilization builders out there. So if that’s your thing, you’re definitely going to want to give Enchanted Realm a go.
