Doptrix: Written Android App Review
Just when you thought you’ve seen every incarnation of classic Tetris, a game like Doptrix comes along and blows your mind. This smart title from Stanislav Merezhko uses classic Tetris shapes in a whole new way. If you’ve just gotta know what’s next for this ultimate classic, our Android app review of Doptrix has all the answers.
Doptrix is only one of the latest versions of Tetris, one of the most popular games in the world with million players and followers. If drop-box games are your thing, then you should definitely play casino on android where you will find great games which combine the mechanics of Tetris with cards and poker combinations.
Gameplay

In Doptrix the game board is up for grabs. That’s right the shapes are the same, but where you send them is entirely different. This game store the shapes on the bottom of the screen, with one active and the other advising you which shape is next. The upper portion of the screen is a square game board, and it moves.
Your job is to manipulate the board to catch the shapes and complete lines just like in classic Tetris, but be careful. If your shape doesn’t come into contact with another it goes flying off into space and if your shape won’t fit on the board it’s game over.
The board rotates 360 degrees and back again, it also turns over, all with simple touch and drag controls so there’s no mystery here. There’s also no timer or time limit that we noticed, making this more of a thoughtful, puzzle style game than the original Tetris. The results are pretty cool, especially if you like strategy games, because this isn’t the sort of game you can just play without thinking.
There are three distinct game modes in Doptrix, classic, alternative and puzzle, for an added boost of interest. We think this is a super smart title and love the twist on one of our favorite classics.
Layout & Design
Doptrix
Doptrix isn’t horribly tricked out in the graphics department, but there are a few unique themes you can dress the game in, from starry skies to green grass to a simple grey motif. The game layout is extremely logical and, thanks in part due to a detailed help tutorial, easy to play. It may take a moment to get used to the idea of rotating the game board, but once you are the simplicity of the app is quite nice.
Overall Value
Best of all? Doptrix is entirely free to download and play. There are no advertisements or in-app currencies. What you see is what you get. We love free apps (who doesn’t?) but we love them even more if there are no pesky ads, so this is a big plus in Droptix’s favor.
Here at Android Apps Review we think this is the kind of app that makes us love Android. It’s fun, it’s smart and it’s free. Go get it.
