Tiki Kart 3D: Written Android App Review
It’s no big secret that we’re big fans of racing apps here at Android Apps Review. Call it obsession or a never ending search to find a game that lives up to Mario Kart on our favorite platform, we are unashamed. This endless quest for driving greatness recently led us to Tiki Kart 3D, a splendid racing app from Arb Studios that we just had to tell you about. So strap in, fellow Android racing app enthusiasts. This round is one for the record books.
Gameplay

In Tiki Kart 3D you will choose your driver and your car from a selection of tiki-themed items, and race five other drivers around crazy 3D tracks for three laps. Along the way you’ll collect items, some to boost your performance and others to hinder your would-be competitors.
This is a pretty classic gameing style, and Tiki Kart 3D executes it to perfection. The tracks are interesting, the competition is intense (especially as you progress to harder levels) and there’s a huge number of unlockable items to help keep this game interesting as you go.
Thanks to an extremely clear, hands-on tutorial section it’s easy to get a good feel for this game. And that’s important, especially since all the drivers and cars have different strengths and weaknesses. Are you a slave to acceleration or does steady handling serve you better? You’ll be able to find out.
Then it’s on to the game’s five circuits, with fun names and themes like Pineapplooza and Molten Roads. Each circuit has three different levels, 50 cc, 100 cc and 150 cc. Yeah, some of this stuff sounds like a straight Mario Kart rip off, but we don’t care. Tiki Kart 3D is seriously fun.

So many racing apps lose us when it comes to controls, but Tiki Kart 3D takes first place in that category. Controlling your car is simply a matter of holding a finger on the screen, making it pretty easy to select and set off those items. Your Android is your steering wheel with this app, and considering it’s all tied to tilt control we’re impressed.
Design-wise, Tiki Kart 3D is a masterpiece. The tracks are awesome, intricate and diverse. The characters and tiki-themed vehicles are hilarious and superbly drawn and animated. Even the 3D driving experience is pretty wild. In other words, this app’s design work and UI are awesome.
Overall Value
Tiki Kart 3D is free. There is an in-app currency that we can tell you from experience is going to be a bit tempting to tap into, especially once you’re past the first few levels and the game starts getting really challenging. We don’t hold this against the folks at Arb Studios. Tiki Kart 3D is a wonderfully fun game with tons of gameplay and options. It gets our fully endorsement. While it may not be Mario Kart, it’s as close as we’ve found for Android, and that’s something special.
