Magic Portals Free: Written Android App Review
If exploring tricky worlds via teleportation has always been a dream of your’s, the new Magic Portals Android app from Asantee is going to blow your mind. In this app you’ll make your way through two-dimensional platformed levels, but your magic teleporting skills will help you make the most of this tricky land.

Magic Portals Free rocks for a couple of reasons. First the 2D levels are retro without being poorly made. Secondly it’s an interesting concept, being able to move things (yourself, boulders, crates, etc.) via teleportation. The only trick is that each portal must be in your line of vision and within sight of each other or they won’t work.
And then there’s the fact that the game is just smart. As you progress levels get tricky, and start including puzzling passages, explosions and other tricky features. There are 60 levels in this app, so there’s plenty of gameplay to be had and a huge variety of puzzles to put your mind to.
The game starts out really simply, so don’t be dissuaded if you find yourself breezing through the first few levels. It will get hard soon enough, and that’s where this app really shines. Magic Portals Free does a pretty good job of educating you on the gameplay as you go along, but we would have liked to see compact tutorial for reference.
Layout & Design
Magic Portals Free
As we mentioned earlier, Magic Portals Free is a 2D game, designed exclusively in cartoon-style graphics that harken back to retro 16-bit games but manage to be slick enough to please even the most fastidious gamer thanks to updated lighting effects.
The results are an app that is universally unoffensive. Sure, it’s a bit gloomy at times, but the variety you’ll encounter as you play will keep you distracted, and the cool puzzles you face don’t lose any face for being simply represented.
There were a few comments from users about the app looking grainy on tablets, and that’s a legitimate concern. It’s not designed for the bigger screen, although it looks sweet on a standard Android phone.
Functionality
Despite playing the game ad nauseam for quite a while we didn’t experience a single issue with the Magic Portals Free Android app. It ran like a dream.
Overall Value
It’s hard to argue with a great app that’s free. To unlock all the app’s secrets you may find yourself wanting to invest in the paid version of the app, which is just $.99. Either way, the price is right for Magic Portals Free. The fantasy-style gaming is engaging and we think this app has a bright future ahead.
