Lightning Text 3D: Written Android App Review

If you’ve been following us long, you’re likely aware of the fact that we’ve been trailing the progress of a little known text app by name of Lightning Text 3D (MiaBella). It’s no secret that we’re enamored with the app, as well as its speedy ways of getting our text messages out to our contacts more quickly. However, the app has had a lot of room to grow: Thankfully, the developers are now one step closer to shutting the gap. Lightning Text 3D is better than it ever has been, and for our full thoughts on this killer messaging app, check below just beyond the break!

Concept and Functionality

Lightning Text 3D for Android

Though the concept behind Lightning Text 3D has changed over time, the core idea has remained relatively the same throughout the various iterations of the app. Before, the app featured an orb of commonly sent text messages. The user trolled through these, selecting the one they’d like to send. Double tapping produced another orb of common contacts. Again, double clicking finalized the message, and away the text went. Overall, the same concept has been preserved, though the navigation has been improved ten-fold. You see, the hard to manage orb has been yanked in favor of a wall of common text messages. Likewise, the contacts have been replaced with a similarly tiled offering. All in all, it’s a much better way to use the Lightning Text 3D concept, and actually makes the experience much faster. We appreciated the fact that we still have total control over the text wall, too. We’re free to change any of the colors, messages, or arrangements as we see fit. It’s a wonderful addition, and in case some of the stock messages don’t strike us the right way, we’re allowed to completely modify them.

Design and Graphics

As stated, we’re quite the fan of the latest iteration of Lightning Text 3D. The app has been retooled from the ground-up, and it now it shines like a polished gem. We appreciated the zoom magnifier that makes it simpler to spot the message we’re after. We also appreciated the gorgeous 3D design of the new type wall. However, the alphabetization of our contacts isn’t quite the smooth flow we’d like. We aren’t sure how the contacts could be better arranged, but it’s still somewhat difficult to find the one we’re after rapidly. Overall, though, Lightning Text 3D has made great strides towards being faster than traditional texting, and we can’t applaud the design enough.

Overall Value

Before, Lightning Text 3D was a decent value at the dollar asking price. Now, though, it’s an absolute steal. The app still only costs $0.99, meaning it won’t break the bank to give it a test drive. If you’ve been looking for a quicker way to send texts from your Android phone, Lightning Text 3D may just be your new best mate. And as future updates bring even more innovation, it will only get sweeter.
