Ready to play with life, for free, on your Android? Of course you are. Here’s the perfect app to let you do just that. The Sims FreePlay Android Apps Review

The Sims is an insanely popular gaming platform, appearing everywhere from desktops to Facebook Flash apps. There are other Sim titles for Android, but none have had this much freedom, if you will. In The Sims FreePlay you have the power to create up to 16 Sims without spending a dime.

If you’re unfamiliar with the game, you control a Sim, or several Sims, and help them live their lives. Dress them how you want to, make friends with other Sims, throw a dance party, learn a new skill, etc. It’s basically the game of life, only slightly smaller and lived with a green gem hovering over your head.

The Sims FreePlay is nudged along by a healthy series of goals. In the beginning of the game these goals will help you learn the lay of the land. Before you know it you’ll be playing like a pro, decorating and building houses and entire towns to your own liking, then populating them with all sorts of crazy characters.

Naturally, there are cool items for sale in the game, but with a bit of patience you really can enjoy The Sims FreePlay without spending money. This is one of the best mobile versions of the game we’ve seen, with true 3D gaming, tons of details and a lot of cool activities and building options.

Functionality

The Sims FreePlay

Since its recent release, The Sims FreePlay Android app has had a few bugs, especially if you’re playing on a device that’s slightly outdated. It’s a huge download, requires a lot of space (about 600 MBs worth of it) and has the potential to run slowly if your processor isn’t up to the challenge.

There were a few specific complaints in the app reviews, like the fact that it costs points to fast forward, even though that’s a pretty standard feature in the desktop version of this game. Overall, we were impressed with how smoothly the game ran on a standard Android phone. A slight wait between scene loads is nothing compared to how much fun the game is.

Overall Value

If you’re a Sims fan, this app is a must, despite a few functionality issues. We’ve been big fans of the platform around here for a long time, and think the addition of an entirely free, Android-based game that doesn’t require you to sync it to Facebook to work is a slam dunk.
