Car Butler: Written Android App Review

Do you hate driving? What we mean is, do you wish there were an easier way to get the information you need, or store the stuff you’d like to keep around, like parking spaces and meter limits? To phrase things another way, do you wish you had a personal driver to manage all this stuff? If so, then Pony up, Soldier! Car Butler by developer Fancy Auto is the next best thing to having a man named Jeeves in your pocket, and we guarantee it will streamline the way you drive. The app serves as an all-in-one reference for the things you do on a daily basis, making it easier to drive, and quicker to commute. For our full thoughts on this killer driving app for Android, check below beyond the break!

Concept and Functionality

Car Butler for Android

Essentially, the idea behind Car Butler is this: How great would it be if you could store your daily commutes, traffic information, parking data, and other points of driving interest all in one application? With Car Butler, that’s essentially what you’re doing. The app starts out by allowing you to enter your daily commute(s), helping you look for directions and check for traffic updates. On the way there—or anywhere else, really—you can also search for nearby services, such as gas stations, auto body shops, car washes, etc. Alongside these, there’s also a convenient and gorgeous parking utility, which allows you to peg the spot you parked at, as well as track the status of your meter. If you live in a big city like us, then you’ll likely understand right away the value of such a utility. Parking meters are a real hassle, and we loved the ability to set personalized alarms for each location. And lastly, the app comes with a brilliant and safety-minded accident reporting utility, whether it’s you or someone else involved in the wreck.

Design and Layout

We feel we should mention now that Car Butler is one of the best looking apps we’ve seen on the Android platform in a long time. We loved (and really loved) the tabbed navigational controls along the top of the app: They’re easy to use, and with such solid graphical touches, look fantastic. As stated, the parking utility also looks great, as does the weather portion, which reminded us a lot of the HTC stock option. All in all, Car Butler comes with what we consider to be award-winning design, through and through.

Overall Value

Best of all, Car Butler is free in the Android Market. Yes, completely gratis. That means you don’t have to fork over a single dime to enjoy the pleasure of a full-on driving utility. The app will make your daily commutes easier, your accidents less painful, and your daily life better. And to us, that’s an app worth paying for, and a total bargain with no cost attached. Car Butler is a must-have.

  1. I’m about to get my first Droid smartphone, and I can’t tell you how excited I am. I have been flying frequently for work, and seeing where using apps would make all the difference in the world. Car Butler sounds absolutely, amazing especially with all the features that are included in a free app. I travel frequently on business for my job at Dish, so using the most qualified apps for the job will be essential to the success of my trip. I have found some other apps that are quickly becoming personal favorites; I’d like to add them to the mix. Trip Advisor looks like it will be my own personal travel assistant, which will look great on my budget, and Dish Remote Access, which will allow me to watch recorded movies off my DVR on my Droid. It sounds relaxing for stressful situations in airports, since sometimes they do arise, or just for relaxing in my hotel after a long day.
