MetaTrader 4: Android App Review

Do you spend a whole lot of your time thinking about the Forex market? No, we really mean it: Do you spend so much of your waking hours thinking and scheming how to improve your Forex portfolio that you simply cannot bear to be away from your computer? If so, then you’re in luck. MetaTrader 4 by developer MetaQuotes Software provides you with a way out: Using the Android app, you can carry around your brokerage’s portfolio with you no matter where you go. Make trades on the go, add new bids, and make sizable profit using nothing but your Android phone. If your curiosity has been piqued, you need only to skip on down below the break to view our whole review!

Concept and Functionality

MetaTrader 4 for Android

As stated, MetaTrader 4 has largely one goal, and one goal only: It wants to be the only application you go to when you need to make a change to your Forex portfolio, or need to look into a possible trade. The app ties directly into the personal accounts of more than 350 brokers around the world, making it easy for you to sign-up and begin using it. If your broker is compliant with MetaTrader 4, you can even see your personal account directly inside the app. From there, you can get all sorts of information about your deals, your gains, and your losses. The app pulls all of this data and displays it in a variety of time-sensitive graphs. You can set these graphs to track any individual stock, and can even fine-tune them by minute, hour or day. Once you’ve gotten the information you want out of the app’s dashboard and graphs, you can also make trades directly from inside MetaTrader 4. These trades are rerouted through your brokerage exactly as if you were at your computer. All in all, it’s a powerful suite, and one we highly recommend for the dedicated Forex trader.

Design and Interface

All of that being said, MetaTrader 4 looks pretty slick on the Android platform, too. It uses a top-down navigational theme that we liked a whole lot. We also like the color combinations, and the fact that our tickets are open the minute the app loads. However, we would have liked even more customization within the graphs, as well as more easily read stock tickers on the dashboard. We’ve seen other Android apps that include full color-coded readouts, which is something we’re missing in MetaTrader 4.

Overall Value

Keeping those complaints in mind, though, it’s certainly hard to argue with the bargain that is MetaTrader 4. The app is completely free in the Android Market, making one of the cheapest and best ways to take your Forex trading profile with you. It’s simple to use, easy to navigate, and incredibly powerful in the right hands. With all of that being said, MetaTrader 4 certainly comes recommended.

Android Apps Review Details: MetaTrader 4 is free. This app requires Android 2.1+ and up. You may download MetaTrader 4 from the Android Market. A small expedite fee was paid by the developer to speed up the publication of this review.
