Concept and Functionality

As stated, the idea behind Ivideon is pretty simple. You’re going to need a few things out of the gate, though. Most notably, you’re going to need the app and Ivideon’s services. You don’t need to pay for the service. Applications are free. Service is free of charge too. From there, you’re going to need at least one web or IP camera that you can use at the home or in your office. How the app works goes something like this: The services provided by Ivideon tap into your camera at home, and automatically log away the things it sees. You can view these records at any point in time, or you can access the live feed to see it all in real-time glory. Either way, you’re free to setup multiple cameras all throughout your venue, allowing you to see at a glance what’s going on at important locations. In essence, your phone becomes a mobile security hub, allowing you to check in, view what’s been happening, and otherwise keep a total eye on the goings-on. And to us, that’s one of the cooler utilities to have hit the Android platform in a long time.

Design and Interface

We have to admit, the app looks pretty great on our Android phone, too. It’s got a simple but effective interface that allows us simple access to everything we need, but it’s not overtly cluttered. We liked this a lot. The actual archival and historical view modes are simple to navigate as well. Simply drag a finger to the appropriate date, and you can see immediately what was happening at the time. In the same way, you can click on any day of the recorded month to see actual data from there, too. It’s simple, gorgeous, and hard to say no to if you’re in need.

Best of all, the app is completely free! The service now is completely free of charge. You are able to use it for free. It’s like a Skype.
